Hey Guys, In case you haven't noticed, countries have been rushing to roll out their central bank digital currencies or CBDCs. Although they say it's because they want to address things like 'financial inclusion', the European Central Bank or ECB recently said the quiet part out loud. Central banks are rolling out CBDCs to ensure the continuation of the existing financial system in the face of growing inflation and growing distrust in national currencies. This was explicitly noted in the ECB's recent working paper about CBDCs. As you might have guessed, today's video is about that paper, and it's safe to say that it's one of the craziest CBDC papers I've summarized so far. The proposal was initially opposed by the firm’s creditors. Hey Guys, If you've been keeping up with the crypto headlines you'll know that the SEC has ramped its regulation of the crypto industry. The thing is that the SEC has yet to clarify the criteria it's using to designate a particular coin or token as a security like a stock in a company. As we've seen with cryptos like XRP, this can be very bad for both the crypto and the companies behind it. Unfortunately and fortunately, the SEC recently called 9 cryptocurrencies securities in a complaint against alleged insider trading by a Coinbase employee. While this is certainly bad news for the cryptos in question (hence unfortunately), it could offer some very valuable clues as to the criteria the SEC is actually using to go after crypto projects (hence fortunately). As it so happens, I managed to narrow down a handful of criteria the SEC is using to analyse cryptocurrencies. There is one that I forgot to mention in the video however, and that's that all the 9 cryptocurrencies the SEC recently labeled as securities are ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum. It's hard to say if this counts as a criteria though, because after all, the SEC went XRP and its not a token. For what it's worth, this is easily one of the most important videos we've made in recent memory, and I strongly suggest looking at the cryptos you hold through the lens of the SEC to see if any of them could be at risk of getting labeled a security and enduring all the bad stuff that comes with that classification. The Senate confirmed Barr’s nomination on Wednesday in a 66-28 vote. The Fed is also anticipated to determine whether to issue a digital dollar during his tenure, a decision that could impact the cryptocurrency industry. According to Barr's scholarly work, a central bank digital currency (CBDC) might further the government's goals for financial inclusion. If such a CBDC is created, it may have a significant impact on private, dollar-based stablecoins. Cryptocurrency lender Celsius Network filed for bankruptcy protection Wednesday, a month after halting withdrawals in the wake of a collapse in digital currency prices that stretched the platform’s business model past the breaking point.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's office has announced the seizure of over 50 million hryvnias ($1.6 million USD), 830 kilograms of silver, six plots of land and three apartments from over-the-counter (OTC) brokers who illegally facilitated cryptocurrency purchases for users from Russia and Russia-occupied territories. According to the announcement, local police are investigating fraud, money laundering and tax evasion charges against the OTC brokers.
