Big Petrol And Diesel Price Hikes Looking Likely For March Motorists and commuters could be in for more hard times in the coming months, with the latest data pointing to significant petrol and diesel price hikes in March. The latest unaudited data from the Central Energy Fund (CEF) implies that 95 Unleaded petrol could go up by around R1.35 per litre next month, with 93 Unleaded rising by R1.31. The outlook is even more bleak for diesel, which looks set to rise by between R1.44 (500ppm) and R1.58 (50ppm). Keep in mind that these are mid-month predictions and that any movements in the local currency and international oil prices in the coming two weeks could push those figures higher or lower. A step towards victory: Thank you for writing to the University of the North West. "We will not tolerate the abuse of the human rights of any grouping at our institution. We pride ourselves on promoting a culture of diversity and inclusivity. The matter is currently being handled in terms of our student disciplinary processes, and we will not further comment on this in the media, until the investigation and following disciplinary process has been finalised. I think it is only fair to allow for these processes to be concluded."

We argue that Shaun Christie did not abuse anybody's rights, but that he was defending the human rights of the first year students, who were being abused by being forced to attend an indoctrination session on LGBTQIA+, which was not relevant to their academics and which they did not wish to attend, as demonstrated by most of them walking out after Shaun Christie spoke.  Shaun Christie did not disrupt anyone's free speech in a voluntary attendance forum, nor anything relevant to the academics of the university, nor has he expressed any hatred for LGBTQIA+ people, and the university has not given Christians a similar equal opportunity to present their views on marriage and sexuality.  Leading academic Helen Pluckrose, who is not a Christian, has argued persuasively that 'woke' ideology is a religion.  It is being given special privileged status at universities and in some countries as a 'state religion', with false charges of 'hate speech' or 'intolerance', the equivalent of 'blasphemy laws' to victimise those who don't accept such indoctrination. It is the university and its LGBTQIA+ indoctrination team that have abused the human rights of students, not Shaun Christie. We call on Professor Bismark Tyobeka, Vice Chancellor of the University of NorthWest to ensure that such indoctrination stops, give Christians equal time to present an alternative view, and withdraw the charges against Shaun Christie.  We also call for an end to LGBT indoctrination and victimisation of dissenters at other universities and in our school system.  Please write to Mr. Louis Jacobs of NWU to ask for an end to forced LGBT indoctrination. The BELA-Bill affects all families. Education in South Africa is in a dire crisis. Currently many parents can still afford to prioritise quality education in mother-tongue medium of instruction at a very limited amount of public schools in which governing bodies use their administrative powers to retain the quality and character of such schools. However the so called BELA-Bill aims to curtail the powers school governing bodies have to centralize these by means of state control. In such a manner the continuation of these excellent public schools is placed in jeopardy. Especially in the case of rural municipalities who are expediting the process of urbanisation. For this reason parents are struggling to find placements for their children in good public schools especially in Gauteng and the Western Cape. Those who are unable to afford private schools have the option of home education, online schools or cottage schools. The BELA-bill makes it harder for parents to access these alternatives. This transformation aims to make home education unaffordable and replicate state education at home. Although the BELA-BILL is the first comprehensive revision of the SASA, since 1996, it does not make provision for any new modalities of learning, for example on-line schools and cottage schools. This only entrenches the current failure of the education system.
