*Lack of respect: Politics at times is characterized by offensive statements aimed at tarnishing the image of political opponents through the use of propaganda. The use of

chiefs are non-partisan.
*Besieged with numerous functions: They perform religious, executive, legislative andy
judicial functions in their areas. The chiefs are already engaged; hence an addition of
partisan politics to the Chiefs will not only burden them but will also contribute to
ineffective performance.
Play advisory role in societies: Among the qualities of a good Chief is wisdom and
knowledge. Chiefs therefore gives advice to important personalities as well as their subjects
on controversial and dicey situation hence their involvement may lead to loss of confidence
and trust in the advice they offer. Besides, those who are political opponents to the Chiefs
may not seek their advice on issues.
**Slows down development of the traditional area: If a Chief Political Party does not win
Elections, he may lag behind in development since his party would be deemed as Opposition
Party. Chiefs can have alternative development projects from different Political Parties when
their political affiliation is not declared.
**Maintenance of peace: Politics of Africa is at times characterized by violence, hatred and
serious disagreement. Chiefs' neutrality is very important in resolving and maintaining
peace and ensures harmony among the competing groups within his traditional area

a. The Government structure of is made up of the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary.
b. The government performs many functions that make it a vital institution. These functions are explained below.
First, Government formulates policies. This function is performed by the Executive arm of government. Among these policies include policies on education, health, agriculture, Industrialisation and many more. A notable example of the current NPP government is the Free SHS policy.
Government also makes laws to regulate the life and conduct of the people in the nation. The function of law making is performed by the Legislature. The legislature passes bills and the president assents to bills for them to become laws.
Again Government settled disputes and administers justice. This function is performed by the Judiciary. The Judiciary uses courts and judges to interpret the constitution and punish offenders of the law.
The Governemnt also maintains law and order. This function is a role of the executive arm of government. The executives uses security institutions such as the police and the army to maintain law and order as well as national security.
The Government also provides employment for the people. This is done by the executive arm of government through the various civil service institutions, public corporations, ministries and government agencies. For example the NPP government created the NABCO job avenues for young people.
Last but not the least, government conducts external relations by making friends between Ghana and other nations .
