Testimony Tuesday Couple of video testimonies today. This first video testimony is a man (a Baptist Pastor Jeff Hilliard on Robby Dawkins “Radical Radio” show) that has an encounter with an atheist student who meets Jesus on the spot. I did some digging on this testimony. -2- We disembarked and we said goodbye. She had a two hour layover for her next flight to her final destination. As we parted, I said a quick prayer to the Lord myself, and ask that someone else “water the seeds” on her next flight. Christy stated she lived in Lake Oswego which is only about fifteen minutes from where I live. Perhaps I will run into her again, perhaps not. It doesn’t matter, but God knows and I imagine is already working in her heart. Friends, I may not have shared the plan of salvation but I shared what I believed the Holy Spirit wanted me to say. That was enough. I let the Holy Spirit guide me and say exactly what she needed to hear. In the past, I would have said to myself after the fact, “Oh, I should have said this” or “Why didn’t I say that?” I try to avoid thoughts like that, and remember that I already asked the Holy Spirit to guide me, therefore I am going to trust He will give me the words, so I didn’t even worry about it. In reality, God will do the watering, I just planted the seeds. I’ve always felt that when we encounter strangers, sometimes we just need to listen, and not come with an overbearing agenda, and let the Holy Spirit lead. I believe the Lord knows exactly how to approach the person, and He is waiting for us to be willing to step out of our comfort zone and share our faith, our joy, and His love. The rest is up to Him. For all I know, God has already arranged someone else to come across Christy’s path to confirm what she needs to hear and do. Be willing to be vulnerable, even if you feel inadequate or don’t know what to say. Let the Holy Spirit lead. You can’t go wrong. After all, it’s about Him, not us. His Spirit will move and gently guide as you obey His promptings. Please pray that Christy will yield to the God she thought she knew, and that she will eventually find peace and joy in Christ’s love for her. Thank you dear friends. Testimony Tuesday 1 of 2 Over this past weekend I attended my nephew’s wedding. I flew into Southern California’s LAX airport to meet my sister to pick me up. As usual before I boarded my flight, I always wonder who will be my seat mate. I prayed the morning I got up and asked the Lord to place the right person next to me that needs encouragement. And of course, the Lord never fails with this prayer request. A woman sat next to me. I introduced myself. Her name was Christy. We started chatting and we talked about our flight destinations. She was going to the Netherlands for a conference. I told her I was attending a wedding. After some brief small talk our conversation digressed into the condition of our world. She talked about her concern for our nation. She mentioned she had two sons late in life at the age of 43 and 45, who were now in college. She expressed her concern about the future and direction of our country. Without going into politics directly I simply agreed with her, and stated that my faith in God gives me peace during times like these. She seemed to want to talk about her own faith. She began to open up and shared she came from a Catholic background, but did not particularly ascribe to it now. I got a better understanding of where she was coming from in relation to what she believed. In my heart I asked the Holy Spirit to give me direction as far as what I can say to her. During the entire flight, I listened to Christy share about her life and faith. She believed in God, but I sensed she did not have peace in her heart. This was an intelligent woman with an IT and engineering background, and yet I felt this emptiness inside her. Our conversation continued about faith and the importance of God in our lives. I shared about my faith, and that I was a born again believer in Jesus Christ who transformed my life. She listened intently, as I shared about God’s faithfulness in my own life. I told her that God sees what is going on in the world and it does not surprise Him, but that we can still trust Him. After approximately two hours we began our descent into LAX. I asked her if I could pray for her. She said “Yes, please.” I held her hand and began to pray a simple prayer…although I don’t remember every word I said in my prayers but this is what I do remember saying… I thanked the Lord for putting us together on the plane. I thanked the Lord that He was watching over Christy and her family. I asked the Lord to protect her, and that He might show Himself to Christy that she may find peace in her heart in the coming days, and that Christy would come to trust Him in her life. I asked the Lord to guide her. I asked all these things and more in Jesus name.
