for anyone who ain't in the group and didn't followed how it unveiled I was originally rejected in favor of someone with more experience, which is totally understandable (I'm a new grad after all) around a month later they called me back because they'll have a vacant post and I could fit so I jumped on the occasion ☺️ will work as a Python dev on a desktop app, quite cool and a complex project that will sharpen my skills, in turn making the unzip-bot even better ! I'm starting officially on May 18th. keep an eye out on @unzip_updates as I dust off my py knowledge :)

GitHub Copilot to switch to token-based billing it was expected, but not that soon... Starting June 1st, 2026, GitHub Copilot will switch from Premium Requests to GitHub AI Credits. Basically instead of having 300 requests (whether it's one message or an hour long session), you're actually billed per-token like with every other API. Was good while it lasted... They are of course doing that because the current model isn't sustainable and abuses their infra, people used the Ask Question tool to run hour-long sessions and only be billed 1 request, with the model simply using it to ask for the next prompt. A quick recap of changes : - Pro plan gives 1000 monthly AI Credits, Pro+ gives 3900 (1 credit => $0.01) - Users will see in May in their Billing settings an estimate of their current usage with the new system - Models multipliers will also change, with no more 0x models, best Claude ones becoming 27x and best OpenAI ones becoming 6x (no pricing update for 5.5 yet) - GitHub Copilot code review will start consuming GitHub Actions minutes on top of those AI Credits - ChatGPT 5.3-Codex is removed from self-selection in the Student plan (right now) but stays available in Auto selection [blog post, individuals pricing, models multipliers, review action blog, student blog]

All tests passing 😍🥵

I got tired of not understanding why I have dependency Y installed via PIP on my pc, and having literally hundreds of them for old projects I no longer use unlike in the NPM ecosystem, we can't track that dep X depends on Y, and so on... so I built some scripts to understand that : - a deps mapper - a summarizer - a graph generator - (the best) a deps viewer as a webpage https://github.com/EDM115/useful-stuff/blob/main/scripts/pip_deps/README.md

https://t.me/wrenchies/553 if you use a modded telegram client, read

i've been so used to them that i never really thought about their existence at all https://www.bbc.com/travel/article/20260327-the-road-signs-that-teach-travellers-about-france

update, again (recap of the past 3 months) : - proper error page - OG images have been refreshed to use the same fonts as the website, nicer icons glow, entirely new renderer (5-6x faster), proper colors based on GitHub linguist, don't embed project og images in the image itself - way better blog/telegram search, using docfind + pagefind, local fulltext AND keyword search with wasm-embeddings - better excerpts (keep emojis, images alt text, spoilers, ...) - better project list page with buttons linking to the repo, demo, package page, ..., description, added more projects - added date & read time to blog posts - use the newer Temporal API so I don't cry trying to manipulate dates - faster CI builds as we restore previous build cache - removed the ugly empty end-of-line space on selected text (lots of edge cases handled, there's like 1/2 left but i don't wanna try to fix it ever again) - fixed the back to top button hover on dark mode - limit the height of massive lists - rework the AI Guidance - rework the lint configs - rework the i18n keys because it was horrible - better professional experiences - rework the NGINX config since we hand-build support for brotli-compressed assets, i do now want to pay for the official module - don't override the locale on very first load - normalize icons and use better looking ones where possible - pre-optimize deps with Vite - pre-grab project repo's infos to avoid hammering the GitHub API at build time - fixed multiple issues in dev mode

Is the bot running smoothly these past weeks ? 🤔 Quite unexpectedly I've seen multiple occurrences where it ran for long periods of time uninterrupted (7/8 days instead of 3/4), and most of the time responded quickly.
