Stupid people exist to let you know there's a different (and sometimes a better) way to think
—————
Does this mean you stop judging people and start listening to every body?
No. Because a lot of people are stupid.
But what you can do, is become open to having conversations with those who are ready to be questioned and ready to explain.
This is of course considering that you should as well be open to accepting something new, from someone you consider to be stupid

I see a lot of people listen to music while working
If you're one of those, try working without music
This is essential for 2 reason:
1. You should be able to work without music
2. Your focus will drastically increase
Surely, it will be difficult initially. You might face boredom.
But once you adjust yourself to it, your focus will be way better than it's with music
Don't believe me?
Try it out for a few days
You'll see for yourself how much your focus can improve once you remove every damn distraction possible

Have you ever had the need to justify your capabilities, without being asked for?
For instance, you needed some advice and you started the question with loads of bullshit about why you're capable of getting the answer...
This usually happens when you don't trust your capabilities. So you overly talk about to give yourself assurance that you are capable.
Whenever you notice this, you should know that you either lack the capabilities or you don't trust them enough. If you lack capabilities, the only solution is to go build some skills. And if it's all just in your head, then you all have read enough self-help to know what to do.
Now, this is just a small example of how your actions reflect what's going on inside your head. If you learn to identify this, you can solve majority of your problems.

After watching the documentary I sent yesterday, a thought came up my mind:
It's often said that direct experience is everything. And I used to believe the same.
But if we once again consider ourselves to be normies and mediocre (which most of us are), then I realized that we can often be delusional
Surely, direct experience matters. You can't blindly follow what others say. If something works for you, it works for you.
But then, masturbation helps a lot of people sleep, because orgasms calm you down. Does this mean masturbation is good?
Well, your direct experience says so. So, we can say that their direct experience is ruining them
Alright, so you can't blindly trust others. You can't even trust your own experiences. So, what are you supposed to trust?
You're supposed to trust your direct experiences
But...But...you have to become aware, and you have to become open minded
Your direct experiences can help you only when you're aware enough to understand how different things are affecting you. And at every god damn second, you have to be open that your conclusions can be wrong.
You have to be open that all your self help practices are ruining you. If you take psychedelics, you have to be open to the idea that psychedelics are destroying you. If you pray to the God, you have to be open to the idea that God doesn't exist.
If you aren't open, you'll never be able to observe the effects of your actions and beliefs

Repost from Mindset Machine 𝕏
Don’t let yourself be consumed by negative thoughts when things don’t go your way.

Instead of getting discouraged when you fail, accept that it happened, take what lessons you can from the experience and keep moving forward!

Don't try to punish yourself with pushups or an extra hour of workout after eating junk food
You're not going to punish yourself. Promise yourself as much as you want to, but you will 100% avoid giving yourself punishment
Because the reason you ate the junk food is that you seek pleasure. When your mind is wired for pleasure, it won't let you punish yourself. It will make excuses. It will make you believe you're tired.
So, what can do you instead?
Focus on destroying your pleasure seeking tendency, and stop considering your good habits as punishment
The solution for pleasure seeking tendency can be found in the Pinned thread on Twitter.
And for enjoying your good habits, you just have to consider them as skills. As I always say, don't just build muscles. Learn the skill of weight lifting. Add progressions to your work. Don't let it become monotonous. And of course, detox your dopamine system. You can't avoid detoxing it.

I could have probably organized all these posts to create an article, and one day I might
For now, try to put together the pieces. If you have any doubts, let me know.

Another important aspect to this, is that most people believe misery is bad and has to be gotten rid of
Of course, you have to get rid of it. But it exists for a reason
It exists to tell you that something you're doing is wrong. That there's something that you have to change
You can supress it with pleasure as much as you want, but it bursts one day. One day, your dopamine system fails to make you happy. One day the reality stands in front of you. And the earlier this happens, the better.
Along the same lines, there's a quote by Jim Carrey:
"Depression is your body saying ‘fuck you, I don’t want to be this character anymore"
464
When I say such things, people often think I am over-exaggerating the problem
I am not. For a long time, I believed the situation is not so bad
But once you realize how they are trying to wire your mind, you realize that you have been sold a definition of "fun" that's completely destroying your life
And you have managed to create justifications to do those things. After all, almost everyone is doing the same thing.
If you want a way out, focus on your mind, and focus on your life. Find and accept everything that is bringing you misery, and the escapes you're using to ignore the misery. And finally, find a permanent solution. A solution that doesn't involve destroying your mind and body.
464
You should also remember this for you Future
Have strong principles, and don't break them to "experience life"
Stop experiencing life by the terms of society
464
Trying living a simple live. A life with principles.
Will it be easy? No. It takes time to change. Even I am adopting to the "simple life" every day.
As you keep adopting, you'll realize how much horse shit you have been sold
You'll realize how everyone is selling you illusions of happiness and heroism
Just because they want profits. And once they normalize it, everyone fails to understand what's happening

A lot of people in the west believe it's incredible to come out of addictions
What they forget to focus on are the years they wasted
And with time, it's not just the west anymore. I see the same happening in India.
Everyone thinks it's heroic to bring yourself out of dirt.
But why did you get in the dirt?
Now, of course people will say you shouldn't cling to the past. But you can't just forget the past.
You have to understand the amount of time you could have saved. And no, you don't have to do the bad things, to know the value of good things. it's fucking stupid.
Look, obviously you can't change the past. But you can stop spreading the narrative and save your future generation from such narratives.
You don't have to keep them in comfort. All you have to do, is make them understand the importance of not going down the shit hole. Surely, they might not listen so easily. After all, the internet is here. But it's your duty to save them from narratives. Else, all we'll have is a generation wasting their youth, only to spend thousands trying to come back to normal

Stop running behind productivity tips
You'll end up being the most unproductive person
Have skills that you're good at, and that you want to improve at
Practice them every fucking day
Instead of practicing how to do them faster
464
People will often ask you:
Where do you see yourself in 5 years
Don't fucking answer the question. Don't even think about it.
You have got no clue where you'll be in 5 years
All you know is what you want and a rough idea of how to get there
Focus on those steps. Not whether you'll be there in 5 years. You're setting ridiculous expectations that will give birth to regret.

Before you make a decision that can change the entire route of your life, do this:
Consider yourself to be the most mediocre person ever born. Write what you'll need to do as a mediocre person, how much time it will take, and whether you have the resources for it.
Then ask yourself: As a mediocre person, can I do this right now?
If not, avoid taking the decision quickly. Make yourself capable of executing those steps, and then take the decision.
Until then, live the life you have right now
Do not get carried away by money gurus talking about "taking the risk, cause what's there to lose"
Sometimes, there's to lose. And you'll regret the decision later on.
Look, I am not trying to pull you from taking risky decisions. Maybe if you're lucky, you'll succeed.
But you have to be realistic. Avoid doing something that can ruin your life, just because you felt like doing it. Be more driven by facts.
