The demonstration took place outside of the conference hall, where a one hundred gallon tank with a hard plastic pipe shot a strong stream of water over the high wires and well across to the other side of the street! A remarkably efficient device that would be great for home use in the case of a fire emergency. While it was not framed as such, the conference had an orgonomic spirit in that on day one, there were two talks - one my own - that explored in part the relationship between subjective and objective perception and how emotion and organ sensation (Reich's term) are essential components of not only natural scientific research but of daily life and the creative process generally. My talk was intended to serve three functions: 1) present the evidence that Wilhelm Reich's dual discoveries of orgone energy oscillation and armoring are physically real phenomena whose relationship tangibly impacts our moment to moment choices in daily life; 2) that when put into the context of Reich's cosmology, the orgone-armor relationship is the key to resolving the irreconcilable duality between science and religion (or science and spirituality), the conflict itself an unrecognized driver of contradictions in our science, philosophies, religions, cultures and even our interpersonal relationships; 3) the talk was also intended as a tribute to the work and discoveries of Dr. James DeMeo, with emphasis on the remarkable social and scientific implications. My talk on orgone energy was well-received; I met a surprising number of electrical engineers who were Reich, DeMeo and orgone energy enthusiasts; OBRL's senior scientific advisor Dave Marett and I were able to generate even greater interest among them; and we got to witness up close and personal a remarkable array of cutting edge mechanical, electrical and technological devices that put the efficiency of conventionally sold appliances and devices to shame. Touted as a gathering of legends and pioneers of the modern-day Tesla science and free energy movement, they weren't kidding. For the electrical engineers, the do-it-yourselfers and the Nikola Tesla,"free energy" and inventive gadget enthusiasts on this list, this yearly conference is a must see, and if possible, must attend. Like I said in an earlier post, it is run and organized by Aaron Murakami, an excellent host, compassionate individual and prolific researcher, publisher and manufacturer himself, who also has great respect for Dr. James DeMeo and the OBRL. The event itself was held in a large garage type warehouse; a workshop space surrounded by shelves of "I wonder what that is" devices, and a work atmosphere dressed to include a speaker's stage, backdrop and modern audio-video means of documentation - just the right mix of professionalism and scientific grit. (Imagine Abbey Road for electrical engineers) This is a hard core, hands-on crowd. You can almost taste the workshop spirit; its the sort of place you could imagine Nikola Tesla firing off his famous induction coil in his 1890's Colorado Springs laboratory (see photo above). These are folks who love to share and showcase their live, hands-on working demos of new technology - not theories, but real hardware from their desktops, lab benches and backyards.
