HSBC is hiring for SQL Server DBA/Consultant Specialist Full Job Description: - The role is responsible to support the production processing (RTB), cyber security patching and undertake activities on system level design and development (CTB) of the code, testing and deployment. - Be involved in actual production support activities, capacity analysis. Cyber security patching. performing impact assessments, performance tuning, testing and deployments throughout the delivery cycle. Utilize the technical skills and expertise to carry out software development, testing and operational support activities with the ability to move between these from time to time according to demand. - Liaise with other engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to understand and drive the product or service’s direction. - Create robust technical design and a strategy for development of new components to meet requirements. Write test cases, scenarios, test plans including unit and integration tests, within automated test environments to ensure code quality aspect. Work closely with the other support teams, collaborate with vendor consultants at times with a strong customer focus and end to end journeys - Establish a digital environment and automate processes to minimize variation and ensure predictable high quality code and data. Apply innovation and creativity to automate manual tasks - Working with Ops, Dev and Test Engineers to ensure operational issues (performance, operator intervention, alerting, design defect related issues, etc.) are identified and addressed at all stages of a product or service release / change. - Ensure the service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered. Actively participate in and drive the mandatory exercises from time to time on resilience, recovery and service management. Support on-call and work in Shifts as per the agreed plans when required. - Responsible for automating the continuous integration / continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team driving a culture of continuous improvement. Also should be well aware of the various code scanning findings and provide meaningful remediation solutions. - Keep up to date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc. that are applicable Requirements: To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements: - Expected skillset is : SQL admin, DBA, Windows admin, Agile and DevOps concepts. - MS-SQL(T-SQL, SQL) who need to have more experience in writing Stored procedures, views, tables etc and good understanding of the same. - Python knowledge will be added advantage. Exposure to the software development lifecycle and agile software practices from specification, development, Quality Assurance, release - Having past hands-on experience in production support activity of data warehousing or reporting systems. - In-depth understanding on Sql server DBA activities like Backup, Recovery and user/Role Management - Ability to understand the code scanning reports, vulnerabilities and subsequent patching for Sql server. Ability manage various stakeholders which could be Business Users, Change Delivery, Audit Representatives, etc. - Ability to Conduct and attend the various agile ceremonies like PI planning, Scrum meeting and Retrospective . - Having good skills to work in diverse team. Role demands working in shifts and provide On-Call support to production system. - Good knowledge on incident management and ability to lead the team from the front during incident/crisis calls - Candidate will be required to continually enhance the skills within a number of specialisms which include gaining business knowledge, vendor product understanding, Impact Assessments, Development, Code Scanning and Deployments along with operational / business support.
