You should learn basic nursing skills. If you wanted basic, real experience, then, a few months as a nurses aide, without the cost of nursing school. Read some nurses texts, read some earlier nurses texts for how nursing was done when things were less technical. Bedside care, wound care, general patient care. You'll be better able to care for yourself, family.
