Tomorrow, we take a stand for the children. For a long time, I carried hope that justice would come for me. I believed the truth would matter. Somewhere along the way, that hope has faded😪. Before everything went viral… I was already pouring my heart into this world. I was dancing. Teaching. Encouraging children to believe in themselves through movement and creativity. As a special needs dance coach, I found purpose in helping others express themselves and feel seen. I volunteered with foster children, braiding their hair, listening to them, and reminding them they mattered. I dressed up as princesses for birthday parties and hospitals, bringing peace, laughter, stories, and songs to children who needed light in dark moments. I fed homeless on my days off and I was always looking to be a part of something bigger than myself. I am also a college student, determined to finish my degree — for ME. People see the headlines, the pain, the scars, and the survival story… but I pray one day people also see the woman behind it all. A passionate teacher. A dancer. A creator. A fighter. A dreamer. A daughter. I may not be perfect or professionally trained in every role I stepped into, but I gave everything I had with love and sincerity. I fought hard to stay alive. And now I’m fighting just as hard to reclaim my happiness, my peace, and the parts of myself that existed long before trauma tried to define me. I am not just what happened to me. I am resilient.
