I experienced same feeling a few weeks ago when I was laid off in December. Back then, many dismissed my concerns, labeled me a troll, or made light of my situation. It's crucial to remember that layoffs had been occurring in smaller numbers since January 2023. This layoff was necessary, not due to financial constraints, but to shed light on the fact that Google seems to have lost its way. The company appears indifferent to the people who played a role in its success—everyone contributed in some capacity. Certainly, there was over-hiring, a mistake that the executives should acknowledge by accepting responsibility and making adjustments to their hefty compensations. And Googlers ..... Google layoff round 2 started uruehe @ Google Google started round 2 of layoff. Round 1 happened 1 year back in January where 12k were laid off. Initially only the contractors were impacted, but now even SWEs are getting layoff emails and the numbers are growing. Non regrettable attrition, can Amazon give me a second chance after 10 years. amznfb @ I love Amazon and would love to go back. A incident happened 10 years back where I send a email from my private email to a intern in her school email that I found her very hot. She did respond positively. Very quickly I responded that how I was sorry for the email as I was a married man with a kid and was in appropriate . I had emailed anonymously but some of the details i revealed about the building I was in. She went and told her manager and he forwarded to HR and HR tracked me. I immediately confessed and said it was a huge mistake. I wrote a 5 why retrospective and try to make them understand it was a foolish mistake. Anyhow, after a week or so , I was terminated on a phone call on my vacation. It still hurts as a L6 SDM back then and doing well before the AWS numbers were revealed (pre split 300 stock when they fired me). I am sure HR marked me “not a regrettable hire” so I was told I can never work for Amazon in my life. My question is that is there not a time period where this can be forgiven ? Is there a process where I can appeal to remove the “non-regrettable attrition “. Any @Amazon HR willing to comment here. Is there a committee I can send a appeal or come in for a interview to clear my name. TC - $ 0 (laid off in Dec) No trolls please , especially AMZN haters. @blind_feed

Mental health collapse grbrr @ Apple Having a kid has caused me stress on all different levels Cannot even breath in peace Failing miserably at work. Developed all kinds of health issues in the last 2 years. Have not worked out ever since wife got pregnant 4 years ago. Have not done anything but taking care of the baby and my wife in 3 years Life just keeps moving day by day but don’t even remember the last time I slept in peace . I just can’t take it.
