Hajrudin, Gerd, and Chopper are riding a Sval ship when it crashes down on top of Loki. Hajrudin is thrown off, while Gerd is protected by Chopper's Guard Point.
Gerd: Thank you, Chopper-kun! You're so cute and so dependable!
Chopper: Even if you say that, it won't make me happy, you bastard~!!! ❤️🎵🎶
Gerd: I need to hurry! Loki, let me see your wounds... KYAAAHHH!!! This is terrible! You're covered in blood!

Chapter 1189: "King of the World".
Cover page shows Nami scolding Luffy, Zoro and Sanji (turned into monkeys) a lesson.
Imu gets another weapon called "Sea God Sword" and stabs Luffy again. Then Imu pins Luffy to a tree with both swords.
Usopp senses something bad has happened to Luffy.
Gunko's ice has melted but she still hasn't regained consciousness.
Loki remembers a conversation with Shanks the day when Harald died.
Shanks said WG was preparing for the future "War" and told Loki that the enemy is the "King of the World".
Imu gives Sommers a weapon called "Sword of Wrath" to fight Zoro.
Then Imu gives Killingham a weapon called "Spear of Holy Command" to fight Sanji.
All of the weapons Imu uses are weapons that belonged to the 19 Kings from 800 years ago.
Chapter ends when Imu is about to kill Luffy with the "Xingtian Axe", but Gaban appears and blocks Imu's attack.

Official preview: Looking closely at the first page, when Imu asks Joy Boy who he is, Joy Boy hesitates and thinks for a moment before answering, “I’m Joy Boy.” This may suggest that Joy Boy is not his real name, and that for some reason he did not want to reveal his true name/identity.
In the present, Imu says, “Joy Boy is already dead,” as if trying to convince himself. A vein is visible on Imu’s forehead as he say it, showing intense emotion. This may suggest that Imu’s feelings toward Joy Boy are not simply hatred. Imu may still feel attached to the friendship they once shared, a friendship that was somehow torn apart

Both Imu and Joy Boy speak like children, but they do not sound exactly the same. Joy Boy sounds rougher and more casual, while Imu sounds more polite and well brought up.
Joy Boy says “ōtō seyo,” which means “Respond” or “Come in.” This normally sounds formal and adult-like in Japanese. However, it is written in hiragana instead of kanji. This helps Japanese readers understand that the speaker is actually a child using grown-up words.
It may also be meaningful that the chapter begins with the words "Respond” This could be a deliberate reference to Chapter 1108 and Vegapunk’s important broadcast, “Respond, World.”🔥
Long ago, Joy Boy called out to the *world* and happened to reach Imu. 800 years later, Imu is now a lonely symbol of the *world*.

*Imu sees the commotion*
Imu: Gunko... So that "ice" wasn't destroyed...

Imu: He called Gunko "Princess Shuri"... That man with the afro... Don't tell me...
Luffy: "You're Wide Open"* Bullet!!!
*Gear 5 Genie Luffy punches Imu with a fist coated in Armament and Conqueror's Haki, but Imu easily blocks it with one hand. The attack Luffy uses in Japanese is called "SUKIARI BULLET." The term "sukiari!" is used when you spot an opening or when your opponent lets their guard down, making it the perfect moment for a surprise attack. In this case, Luffy named this attack accordingly because Imu was somewhat lost in thought. LOL*
Imu: Weren't thou watching... to what happened to the massive Loki...?
*Luffy's beard in his genie form is burning, LOL. Imu prepares another "Omen" attack.*
Imu: STIGMA
*Luffy dodges out of the way.*
Luffy: Woah!
*Imu fires another barrage of Omen firebombs at Luffy, and they home in on him. Luffy runs away in classic Gear 5 fashion, LOL. Imu then twirls his glaive, transforming it back into an Omen flame. He pulls a sword engulfed in black flames from the Black Flame Ring (hagoromo) with eyes behind his back.*
Imu: "NIHIL SWORD" (or SWORD OF NOTHINGNESS)
(The kanji "虚無剣" is read as "kyomuken")
*Imu's Nihil Sword causes everything around it to wither. The surrounding trees begin to decay, their leaves falling as the blade's presence drains the life from them.*
*Imu prepares to strike.*
Luffy: Hm?! The forest... it's withering!
Imu: The view is magnificent!!!
*Imu stabs Luffy with the sword*
Imu: I understand... that you're not Joyboy... Even I know that much...
Luffy: WAAAHHH!!!
Imu: Because Joyboy... would never be this weak!!

Imu does the weird hand gestures again and fires a barrage of Omen flames at Luffy. Luffy runs at full speed in classic Gear 5 style, LOL. The Omen flames home in on Luffy, and his eyes bulge out in surprise, Gear 5 style.
Luffy: Woah! It's chasing me! Those things are bombs, aren't they?!
GOMU GOMU NO... JET GATLING!!! 👊💢
Luffy punches the Omen flames, and they explode.
Luffy: GOMU GOMU NO...
MAJIN!!! (魔神. Genie)*
Just a point to note: while Majin (魔神) is commonly translated as "genie," its Kanjis literally mean "Demon God" or "Evil God"
Luffy transforms into a giant genie.
Luffy: HOHOHOHOHO!!! It's not like I wasn't watching Loki's fight, you know! I won't let his "death" be in vain!
Loki: I'm still alive, you fool!!! *Cough! Wheeze!*
(😂😂😂)
Luffy: Oh, so you were alive, Loki?!
Imu fires Omen bombs at Loki.
Loki: Crap! Dammit!
Ragnir gets in front of Loki and tries to shield him.
Ragnir: Kuriririri!!!
Loki: Get out of the way, Ragnir!
Jinbe appears and repels the Omen attack.
Jinbe: Arabesque Brick Fist!!!
Luffy, if you're gonna ask me to protect this guy, then I'll do it...
Luffy: Thank goodness!! I'm counting on you, Jinbe!! He's my buddy*!!
Luffy calls Loki "ダチ" (dachi), a very casual slang term for "friend," similar to saying "buddy" or "pal" in English.
Loki: Who are you calling your buddy, you little runt?!
Loki's speaking in a low voice, because he's heavily injured.
Jinbe: Alright, leave it to me! Focus on your fight!
Ragnir is looking with awe at Jinbei, obviously grateful to him for protecting Loki. | 7 548 |

At the beginning of the chapter, Imu remembers his first conversation with Joyboy. They were talking over the phone (although no image is shown, it was most likely through a Den Den Mushi—though who knows what their mode of communication was back in the Void Century? LOL) because they were saying "Moshi, moshi?" which is the Japanese equivalent of answering the phone with "Hello?"
Beginning Note: "Reminiscing about that day..."
Joyboy: Hello? Hello! Come in!
Imu: *Zzzzt...* Hello?
Joyboy: Hm? Huh? What? Who are you?
Imu: I am Imu!! Who art thou?!
(It's funnier in Japanese because Imu said "Mu wa Imu!" - "I am Imu!" LOL)
Joyboy: Oh, me? I'm... Joyboy!!!
(We can only see the lower part of Joyboy's face in Imu's reminiscence—his nose, mouth, and chin.)
