Okay, I just got home. The movie was crazy! It was the right amount of suspense and batshit insanity just like in the video games. The humour hit their marks and most of the jumpscares also surprisingly worked pretty well. Some say the jokes were too abundance and while I tend to agree they rarely missed so I can't complain and I say this as someone who despises cheap jumpscares. I loved the first person POV so much because they made me feel like I was playing the games. The director, Zach Kregger, was the one who made Weapons (2025) so this should explain why it was good. So without saying much this movie is hands down the best Resident Evil live action movie to be made. Low bar, but still.
