Market Wrap
Nifty closed Friday at 23,398.10, −79.70 (−0.34%) — but the print flatters the bears. It gapped down to 23,270, sank to 23,231 in the first hour, then ground higher all session to close near the top of its range. Absorption, not distribution.
Leaders: Bank Nifty, IT. Laggards: Realty (−2.70%), Metal (−2.30%).
India VIX 12.29 (+4.15%) — still under 15, complacency. The pop is noise off a low base.
Global cues constructive: Dow +0.98%, S&P 500 +0.86%. Crude is the problem — WTI +2.34% to 102.32, a live input-cost headwind. Gold flat.
GIFT Nifty 23,483 implies a gap-up open of ~85 points.
Nifty
Range-bound with a bullish tilt. Friday's rejection of 23,231 makes that low the reference support; 23,500 is the level bulls must clear.
Bank Nifty
Gapped down to 55,970, bottomed at 55,699, then reversed hard to finish at 56,606 — green and near the high. Decisive leadership over Nifty; banks absorbed the money exiting metals and realty.
Conclusion
This market is being rotated, not sold. Watch whether Nifty defends 23,400 after the gap-up — and crude above 100, this week's swing risk.

Nifty closed at 23,398.10, down 79.70 points (−0.34%). The index gapped down to 23,270.30, sold into 23,231.40 within the first hour, then ground higher all session to close in the upper third of the range at 23,398.10. The red print flatters the bears — buyers defended the gap and took back most of it, echoing yesterday's late bid. Banks and IT led; Realty (−2.70%), Metal (−2.30%) and Auto (−0.86%) bore the selling. India VIX rose 3.90% to 12.26 — still deep in complacency territory, so the air-pocket was positioning, not fear. Overnight cues soft: Dow −0.60%, S&P 500 −0.58%. Crude collapsed 4.49% to $99.27 — a clear macro tailwind for India. GIFT Nifty at 23,460 implies a ~60-point gap-up start.
Nifty
Structure remains a contracting range under 23,500, but the recovery off 23,231 keeps the higher-low sequence alive. Until 23,500 is cleared on a close, this is range absorption, not a breakdown.
Bank Nifty
Gapped down to 55,970, reversed hard and closed at 56,606.55 — above yesterday's high, near the day's top. Clear relative strength: banks led the rebound while Nifty only clawed back.
Conclusion
Weak headline, strong internals — this was an accumulation day, not distribution. Watch whether Bank Nifty can drag Nifty through 23,500 on the GIFT-implied gap-up; failure there reopens 23,230.

| 12 | 🇮🇳 India's merchandise exports just grew 15%+ despite a tough global environment — and there's a bigger story unfolding around trade & inclusion. 🧵
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal announced at the BRICS Women's Business Alliance Summit that India's merchandise exports rose over 15% during April-August this fiscal year, even amid global uncertainties. During April-July specifically, exports climbed 17.04% to USD 173.78 billion.
That's a strong number in a period where global trade has been anything but easy — tariff tensions, supply chain shifts, and slowing demand in several major economies. India bucking that trend is worth noting.
But the announcement went beyond just export numbers.
Goyal urged BRICS nations to expand trade in goods and services by improving three specific things:
🔹 Credit access for women entrepreneurs
🔹 Market opportunities for women-led businesses
🔹 Predictable business rules across BRICS nations
The focus on women entrepreneurs isn't incidental — it's a deliberate push to widen who participates in India's export growth story, not just scale the existing base.
Two concrete proposals stood out:
1️⃣ A common BRICS platform for electronic trade documentation — aimed at cutting paperwork friction for businesses trading across BRICS nations.
2️⃣ Converting the "Women's Advancement Fund" from a concept into an actual functioning initiative — moving from intent to execution.
Why this matters for investors: export-oriented sectors, trade-tech platforms, and MSME-focused financial services could all see policy tailwinds if these BRICS trade initiatives gain real traction. Worth watching how (and if) these proposals get implemented over the coming quarters. | 1 984 |

Market Recap
Nifty closed 23,477.80, +46.30 (+0.20%). It opened soft at 23,446, dipped to 23,380, then ground higher to close near the top of a narrow 115-point range — a reversal from the prior session, when the index shut at the exact low of the day. Buyers are defending dips, but the range is compressing.
Not one tracked sector closed green. Realty (−0.02%) and IT (−0.08%) held best; Metal (−0.65%) and Auto (−0.41%) led losses — the headline gain was heavyweight-driven, not broad.
India VIX slipped to 11.79 (−1.05%) — below 15, complacency, no fear priced in.
Globally, S&P 500 −0.58% and Dow −0.60%. Crude fell 1.05% to $102.85; gold firmed to $4,328.50. GIFT Nifty at 23,345.50 implies a gap-down open of roughly 132 points (−0.56%).
Nifty
Range-bound and compressing — two sessions of indecision inside 23,380–23,571. The close near the high shows demand, but the gap-down puts 23,380 straight into play. Below it, 23,300.
Bank Nifty
Opened at the session low, held 56,231 all day, closed near the high at 56,471.95 (+0.31%) — outpacing Nifty a second day running. Banks are the relative-strength pocket carrying this index.
Conclusion
Verdict: a compressing range with weak internals and a complacent VIX, now meeting a negative gap. Watch 23,380 on the opening dip — reclaim it and the range holds; lose it decisively and this becomes distribution.

Nifty closed at 23,477.80, up 46.30 points. It opened at 23,446.60, sank to 23,380.10 by mid-morning, then ground higher into the close, finishing near the top of a narrow 115-point range. That matters: Wednesday ended exactly on its low at 23,431.50, and the expected follow-through selling never arrived.
Breadth stayed poor. Every sector we track closed red — Metal weakest at −0.65%, Realty flattest at −0.02% — so banks alone carried the headline. India VIX at 11.72 sits well below 15: complacency, in a market going nowhere. Overnight cues were soft, Dow −0.77% and S&P 500 −0.48%, with crude firm at $97.41 and gold flat. GIFT Nifty at 23,460.00 is ~18 points under spot, pointing to a flat open.
Nifty
Range-bound, not trending — today's entire session sat inside Wednesday's range. 23,380 is the reference low; bulls need a close above 23,571 to change the structure.
Bank Nifty
Opened below the prior close, defended 56,231.85, then rallied 240 points to close at 56,471.95. Clear relative strength versus Nifty, and the only index that reversed convincingly. Banks are leading.
Conclusion
Verdict: stabilisation, not reversal — inside range, weak breadth, compressed volatility. Watch whether banks can drag Nifty through 23,571; below 23,380, the downtrend resumes.

Market Wrap
Nifty settled at 23,431.50, down 203.60 points (−0.86%). It gapped down to 23,522, poked at 23,571, then bled lower to close exactly on the low — sellers owned every bounce. That extends the lower-high, lower-low sequence from the prior day.
IT (−3.24%) did the damage and never traded above its opening print; Realty (−2.23%) and FMCG (−0.96%) followed. Metal (+1.79%) was the only sector defending.
India VIX jumped 6.81% to 11.92. Still complacency territory below 15, but the pop off a low base says hedges are being bought.
Global cues soft: Dow −0.77%, S&P 500 −0.48%. Gold firm at $4,415.78, crude easing to $96.27, rupee steady at 95.0950.
GIFT Nifty at 23,491 implies a ~60-point gap-up open, roughly +0.25%.
Nifty
Structure is a clean breakdown, not a range. A gap-down open plus a close on the low leaves the entire 23,431–23,571 band as fresh supply. Reclaiming 23,571 is the first repair job.
Bank Nifty
Also closed at its session low after a gap-down start. At −0.85% it merely matched Nifty — banks are neither leading the fall nor cushioning it.
Conclusion
Controlled distribution, not panic — weak internals, low VIX, no capitulation. Watch whether this morning's gap-up holds above 23,500; a fade back under 23,431 confirms sellers still own the tape.

Nifty shed 203.60 points to 23,431.50, down 0.86%. It gapped down at 23,522.05, pushed once to 23,571.55, then bled all session and settled exactly on the low. That extends Tuesday's failure to hold 23,600, which is now resistance.
Metal was the only sector standing (+1.79%). IT did the damage at −3.24%, Realty (−2.23%) close behind. India VIX rose 7.01% to 11.94 — still complacency territory, so this is repricing, not fear.
Global cues gave no help: Dow −1.18%, S&P 500 −0.58% Tuesday (US shut Monday). Crude at $95.22 and a weaker rupee at 95.1050 both squeeze importers. GIFT Nifty at 23,495 implies a flat-to-mildly-firm open, some 64 points above cash.
Nifty
Structure has flipped from range-bound to a short-term breakdown. A close on the session low below the prior swing keeps momentum with sellers; 23,400 is the immediate shelf, 23,600 the ceiling.
Bank Nifty
Opened weak, bounced mid-session to 56,743, then surrendered it to close at 56,295.55. Down 0.85% against Nifty's 0.86% — matching, not leading. Banks are no longer last week's cushion.
Conclusion
Distribution, not a dip: gap down, failed bounce, close on the low, only Metal carrying breadth. Watch whether 23,400 holds on the first test tomorrow — losing it opens 23,250.
