Asian Markets
Asian markets traded higher on Monday ahead of the key economic data from the region and the US Federal Reserve’s meeting this week.
South Korea’s Kospi gained 0.63%, and the Kosdaq surged 0.94%. Japan’s markets are shut for a public holiday. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index futures indicated a weak opening.
Wall Street
The US stock market ended higher on Friday led by a rally in megacap growth stocks after robust quarterly results from Alphabet and Microsoft in addition to moderate inflation data.The Dow Jones Industrial Average rallied 153.86 points, or 0.40%, to 38,239.66, while the S&P 500 gained 51.54 points, or 1.02%, to 5,099.96. The Nasdaq Composite ended 316.14 points, or 2.03%, higher at 15,927.90.
The Sensex was down 188.42 points or 0.25 percent at 74,151.02, and the Nifty was down 47.50 points or 0.21 percent at 22,522.80. About 1901 shares advanced, 1220 shares declined, and 99 shares unchanged.
