| 6 | Bursa market outlook: *A tad more cautious*
Most Asian stock markets rebounded on Thursday, lifted by banking heavyweights in the region. The local benchmark FBMKLCI (KLCI) advanced 6.39pts or 0.37% to end the day at 1,715.13. Sectors wise, construction (+3.06%), healthcare (+1.08%) and energy (+1.01%) were the top gainers. Conversely, telecommunications (-1.10%), REIT (-0.90%) and plantation (-0.35%) were the top laggards. Trading volume fell to 3.91bn (down from 4.21bn previously) while trading value eased further to RM3.22bn (down from RM3.52bn previously). Market breadth turned positive as 625 gainers beat 497 decliners.
The benchmark gapped up with a second white candle yesterday, extending the recovery from its month-low (on an intraday basis). We are a tad more cautious now due to the deeper-than-expected consolidation. It is still too early to conclude that the index has found its footing but the index has done the required pullback (pulled back to its 50-62% Fibonacci Retracement levels). The resistance lies at the 1,722-1,735 range with the 50-day EMA sitting just below the said range. The current rebound may soon test the 50-day EMA next. A strong close above the 50-day EMA is good signal to indicate that a reversal may be underway. The 200-day EMA is seen as the next support. NOTE: Our portfolios are in *risk-on mode* this week. However, we will turn risk-off next week if the KLCI closes below 1,720 by end of the day.

| 14 | Bursa market outlook: *Rebounded after three days of selling*
Most Asian stock markets stayed in the red on Wednesday as rising global bond yields heightened investors’ concerns over the interest rate outlook. The local benchmark FBMKLCI (KLCI) rebounded 8.20pts or 0.48% to end the day at 1,708.74. The broader market was lifted by plantation (+2.28%), energy (+1.53%) and industrial products (+1.19%). Top laggards were technology (-2.03%), telecommunications (-1.00%) and property (-0.85%). Trading volume decreased to 4.21bn (down from 5.53bn previously) while trading value trailed lower to RM3.52bn (down from RM4.42bn previously). Market breadth stayed negative three days in a row with 424 gainers losing out against 746 decliners.
The benchmark formed a white candle yesterday, bouncing off its month-low (on an intraday basis) after three days of selling. We are a tad more cautious now due to the deeper-than-expected consolidation. Can the KLCI hold above the 1,700 psychological mark in the near term? It is still too early to conclude that the index has found its footing but the index has done the required pullback (pulled back to its 50-62% Fibonacci Retracement levels). For today, the current rebound is likely to continue. The 200-day EMA is seen as the next support. The resistance lies at the 1,722-1,735 range with the 50-day EMA sitting just below the said range. NOTE: Our portfolios are in *risk-on mode* this week.

| 20 | Bursa market outlook: *Deeper-than-expected consolidation*
Most Asian stock markets extended their declines on Tuesday with the FBMKLCI (KLCI) leading losses in the region. The local benchmark slumped 25.34pts or 1.47% to end the day at 1,700.54. Most sectors remained in the red, with industrial products (-2.47%), technology (-2.18%) and property (-1.54%) emerging as the top laggards. Energy (+1.47%), transportation (+0.34%) and REIT (+0.16%) were among the few gainers. Trading volume climbed to 5.53bn (up from 5.06bn previously) whereas trading value fell to RM4.42bn (down from RM6.51bn previously). Market breadth stayed negative with 956 decliners swamping 349 gainers.
The benchmark formed a third black candle yesterday, breaking below the 50-day EMA (key support). We turn more cautious now as the KLCI appears to be undergoing a deeper-than-expected consolidation. Can the KLCI hold above the 1,700 psychological mark in the near term? The index may not have found its footing yet. Hence, more weakness is possible in the near term. The 200-day EMA is seen as the next support. The resistance lies at the 1,722-1,735 range. NOTE: Our portfolios are in *risk-on mode* this week.
