More Israelis are leaving than arriving, and in Europe most of them are going to Germany.
Israel's statistics office counted 82,700 departures in 2024 and 23,800 returns. In 2025 another 69,300 left. The balance has been negative two years running — a shift the Taub Center calls unprecedented in scale. Emigrants are counted only after a full year abroad, so the 2024 figures largely capture people who left during the judicial overhaul protests and the start of the Gaza war.
Among Israelis moving to OECD countries, the United States takes about a third and Germany 18 percent — the largest share in Europe. German law lets descendants of people persecuted by the Nazis reclaim citizenship, and applications have risen sharply since 2022, even as antisemitic incidents in Germany increase.

The colonial era was heavily spurred on by a combination of enlightenment motivated liberalism and industrial advancements.
The ideology provided the will to subjugation the world and the technology provided the means to accomplish it.
Colonized peoples who had never encountered industrialized powers were amazed by the technologies that they now bore witness to and - as a result - the idea of "white supremacy" began to arise.
To this very day, there is an unspoken assumption that liberalism and capitalism are inseparable from technological advancement. This is an assumption deeply embedded within the psyche of much of the Atlanticist West despite there being modern examples of rapid industrialization and technological advancements by powers that reject liberalism and capitalism. | 331 |
