The Antennae Galaxies NGC 4038 (right in this image) and NGC 4039 are a pair of merging galaxies of some 61,000 light years across (without the tidal tails), located about 45 million light-years away in the southern constellation Corvus. The Antennae are among the closest known merging galaxies, while they are moving away from us at about 1642 kilometers per second. #Science_news @yonilovesjesus

💥 Geysers erupting from the south pole of Enceladus during a Cassini flyby Enceladus is the sixth-largest moon of Saturn. In 2005, NASA's Cassini spacecraft detected plumes of water vapor and icy particles erupting from Enceladus, revealing the existence of a giant ocean hidden under the moon's frozen shell. These jets are really active, consistently blasting around 250 kg of water into space every second, at speed exceeding 2 kilometers per second. This is powerful enough that most of the water vapour particles escape Enceladus' weak gravity, and they end up in orbit around Saturn, forming Saturn's E ring. 💥 Did You Know? NASA’s Parker Solar Probe is the fastest human-made object of all time. On April 29, 2021, the probe approached the Sun for the eighth time during its mission. At this moment, "Parker" was only 11.1 million km from the center of the star and the speed of its movement was 147.7 kilometers per second! (0.05% the speed of light). Continuing its work, the probe will approach the Sun several times and with each such approach it will be closer and closer to the star. Accordingly, its speed at the moments of passing the next perihelion will be higher and higher. Parker Solar Probe will break its own records, achieving a top speed of about 192 km/s in 2024. #science_fact @yonilovesjesus

This image from Parker Solar Probe's WISPR instrument is the 1st-ever photo taken from inside the sun’s outer atmosphere, or corona – on December 8, 2018. The bright streak is a coronal streamer. The fine structure of the streamer is very clear, with at least two rays visible. Parker Solar Probe was about 16.9 million miles from the Sun's surface when this image was taken. The bright object near the center of the image is Mercury, and the dark spots are a result of background correction. #science_fact @yonilovesjesus

A near-true-colour image of Pluto's bluish atmospheric hazes taken by New Horizons spacecraft in 2015. In this image, Pluto is illuminated from behind by the Sun, almost as if the world is producing an annular eclipse for New Horizons. By the way, did you know? Pluto’s atmosphere as far as 1,600 kilometers above the surface of the planet. In comparison, Earth's atmosphere, extending from 10 kilometers to 50 kilometers above the surface of the Earth.
