Whitepill: Apparently, the legal US immigration system works on a whitelisting basis rather than a blacklisting basis, meaning that everybody is assumed to be rejected until they're investigated and approved. This means that if the system can just be made bureaucratic enough, then incompetent government workers will find it easier to just auto-reject everybody instead of doing their job, especially if there's no accountability for doing so.
