Wait for my essay on this ‘grocery store’ in a ‘food desert’. I used to live in Mott Haven, Bronx, the location for which this boondoggle is planned. It has been a low income area but now is bursting with luxury apartment developments, a waterfront park, trendy bookstores and specialty wine stores, and cafes, and masses of premium grocery stores specializing in fresh produce. This comes after the shocking case in Sweden where a man from Eritrea was convicted of r*ping a 16 year old girl.
