Read the following passage carefully and answer, in your own words as far as possible, the questions on it.
There are many potential dangers to the aviation industry. Apart from technical and mechanical faults emanating from the plane, animals like monkeys and birds are also part of the hazard that pilots contend with. Bad weather also hinders the smooth operations of the aviation industry, especially as it affects the flying of planes. It is amazing that birds pose the most serious challenge to flying considering their small size relative to that of a plane. A bird or a flock of birds that suddenly rises from a runway or surrounding area may possibly cause an accident which may damage the engines or body of an aircraft. Although most bird strikes do not result in crashes , they often cause extensive damage to aircraft. Birds have always been a hazard to aircraft from the first powered flight. During the early days of aviation when aircraft flew at low speeds, b irds had little difficulty getting out of the way. Now that planes fly at high speed, birds cannot avoid oncoming aircraft. Also the new turbine engines have light weight parts which can easily be damaged on impact with birds . Airport areas can be both natural and man-made habitats for birds. Most of these habitats abound in a variety of food such as seeds, grass, insects and earthworms which birds feed on. Occasionally, food becomes available through careless waste disposal practices by restaurants in and around the airport . Birds are attracted by pools of water for drinking and bathing. Rainy periods create these temporary pools. Many airports also have permanent water bodies near or between runways for landscaping, flood control and other purposes. These permanent sources of water provide a variety of bird food, including small fish . Other things that attract birds to airport areas are the trees, bushy areas, weed patches, shrubs and airport structures which provide suitable habitats for roosting and nesting. In fact, any area that is free from human disturbance may attract birds . No two airports are exactly alike. Due to that , bird hazards vary from airport to airport, even when the same species are involve. The presenc e of birds at airports varies according to the environment, weather, season of year and time of day. To ensure successful bird hazard management, waste and refuse disposal within thirteen kilometers radius of the airport should be properly handled. Habitat management practices that make the airport less attractive to birds should be employed . This may include ensuring that rain water is effectively swept or mopped off the runway and aprons , removing or pruning trees and cutting grasses, taking care of foreign objects and debris around the airport.

WEAC MARKING SCHEME AND GRADING SYSTEM

WAEC marking -scheme and grading system. Maybe you've been wondering how the West African Examination Council (WAEC) 2022 examination will be marked and graded. Have you ever asked how will WAEC mark and give scores to 2022 exams? If yes, then you are at the right place.
🔷WAEC GRADING SYSTEM
Under the new WAEC grading system, A1 Excellent, B2 Very Good, B3 Good, C4,C5 and C6 are all interpreted as Credit, D7 and E8 are Pass and F9 Fail.
WAEC Grading System and Interpretation (by percentage)

A1 Excellent 75% - 100%
B2 Very Good 70% - 74%
B3 Good 65%- 69%
C4 Credit 60% - 64%
C5 Credit 55% - 59%
C6 Credit 50% - 54%

WASSCE Grading System
*🔷EXPLANATIONS TO THE GRADING SYSTEM*
For instance , to get A1 in WAEC 2022 mathematics, then u need to score above 75% (i.e 75% - 100%) in the exam. 75% means, you have gotten 75 marks in both section A and B.
*_🔷HOW IS WAEC PERCENTAGE CALCULATED ?_*
To know whether you will get A,B,C,D,E and F, divide the number of questions /marks you think you would get correctly by the total number of questions /Marks possible and multiply by 100%
Example: if you were able to answer 40 questions correctly out of 60 total questions given in oral English, then it will be (40/60)x100% =66.67%=B3
Note: In objective, all questions carry equal marks.
*🔷FOR WAEC THEORY QUESTIONS*
Calculate how many marks you are very sure of , then divide by the total marks the questions carry and multiply by 100%.
Example: Economics, You are allowed to answer five (5) questions in the theory section and each carries 20 marks. Let's assume you are able to answer 4 questions to get 15 marks of total of 20 marks for each.
- The total marks you will get off the 4 questions is 15x4= 60 marks
- Total number of marks you can get is 20x5=100
- Your Percentage score is (60/100) x 100% =60%=C4

HOW TO SOLVE ALL QUADRATIC EQUATION QUESTIONS USING THE CALCULATOR.
QUADRATIC EQUATION.
A typical quadratic equation is in the form;
ax² + bx + c =0
To help you in using a calculator to solve QUADRATIC EQUATION, I will need to use an example.
Example 1: Solve the quadratic equation below. 2x² + 6x + 4 = 0.

1️⃣ Write down the equation given on a piece of paper and arrange it with the squared variable (x²) first, followed by the variable (x) and finally the constant (any number). Always make sure that one side of the equation is zero.
2️⃣ Compare the given equation with the standard quadratic equation as illustrated below;
ax² + bx + c = 0

2x² + 6x + 4 = 0
From the comparison,we can deduce that our a=2, b=6 and c=4. Write the values of a,b and c down as we will be using them soon.

For quadratic equation,we choose option "3"
5️⃣ You will observe that, under the 'a' there is a shade which means you have to enter the values of 'a'. From the equation we did earlier,our 'a' was 2 (a=2), therefore put in '2' and press the equal to button (=).
6️⃣ The shade moves to 'b' and from the comparison, our b=6, so we put in '6' and press the equal to button (=).
7️⃣ The shade moves to 'C' and from the comparison, our c=4, so we put in '4' and press the equal to button (=)
8️⃣ The answer is displayed on the screen as x1 = -1., indicating that the first value of x is -1. Press the equal to button (=) to get second value of x. The second value of x displayed as x2 = -2.
Therefore our answer for the question is
X=-1 or X =-2.
Sometimes, quadratic equations don't come arranged with ax² first, followed by bx and finally the constant 'c'.
In such situations,we will have to rearrange them before we do the comparison to get out value for a,b and c.
Example,. 3x = 2x² + 9 must be rearranged into 2x² - 3x + 9 = 0 before comparing with the main equation.
