When you were dying, 2008 by Rana Javadi
The artwork is about the loss of a peaceful past and the changes brought by modern life. She uses old photographs from the Chehrenegar studio in Shiraz and combines them with dried flowers, old fabrics and reflections of the present. These layers connect the past and the present, showing how memories fade but can live again through art. The work explores themes of time, loss, memory, and the constant change of life.

Circus Paintings by Marc Chagall (1887-1985)
“circus is the most tragic representation in my mind. Through these centuries, it is the highest-pitched cry in man’s search for amusement and joy.”
“I’ve always considered clowns, acrobats, and actors to be tragically human. To me, they resemble the characters of some religious paintings. Even today, when I paint a crucifix or another religious scene, I experience the same feelings as when I painted circus performers.”
