Issue 14 of Absolute Flash hit stores last week and featured Wally and Linda’s adventures in the “Mirror Dimension”. This one featured a fun “upside down” sequence that pulled from a few tricks I learned on my 2013 Vertigo series, Trillium. This issue also teased the Absolute version of S.T.A.R.Labs as well as the characters of Ray Palmer and Silas Stone (can Absolute Vic Stone/Cyborg be far behind?!)
Issue 15, drawn by series regular Nick Robles, will, in fact, be the first appearance of the Absolute ATOM (cover above!) This is sort of a full circle moment for me, as my very first DC writing job was The Atom as a back-up feature in Adventure Comics back in 2009.
Issues 16-17 will be titled “Gorilla City” where we’ll catch up with Grodd and The Rogues, and then #18-19 gives us Absolute Hunter Zolomon and the first appearance of another surprise Absolute incarnation of an old Flash villain. (Nick’s cover below…)
And Midnight is intended to be Marvel's equivalent of both DC Comics' Vertigo line and their Absolute line all in one. Not creator-owned obviously, and using Marvel Comics characters of course, but focusing on the horror side of the equation. We're talking Blade, Darkhold, Ghost Rider, Dracula, Werewolf By Night, Morbius, Spirits Of Vengeance and the like, and the name is a reference to the old Midnight Sons branding for that side of Marvel Comics. Except this will be in its own universe, with big names and radical reworkings of these characters and concepts, as well as various Marvel concepts that have not been revived since their original publications. And all in time for Halloween 2026.

Al Napoli Comicon 2026 abbiamo incontrato James Stokoe, autore canadese di opere come Godzilla: La guerra dei 50 anni, Wonton Soup e Orphan and the Five Beasts.
Un confronto che attraversa kaiju, violenza e coreografie di combattimento per un autore che ha fatto dell'impatto visivo e della cura per i dettagli il centro del proprio lavoro.

Ho approfittato della mattina semi-libera per leggere questa piccola storia pubblicata da Mad Cave, scritta da Kenny Porter (DC Mech) e disegnata da Mike Becker — artista che ho pubblicato qui e là e che ha finalmente l'opportunità di essere protagonista.
È un po' imperfetta e alcuni angoli andrebbero smussati ma è anche adorabile nella sua ingenuità, nella sua voglia di raccontare una storia positiva e ricca di speranza.

This August, Marvel is celebrating that legacy with Mary Jane: Face It, Tiger #1, a giant-sized one-shot packed with new stories that explore her most iconic eras while also teasing what lies ahead. The celebration will also include a new line of Mary Jane Watson variant covers, showcasing fresh artwork from some of today’s top artists.
The one-shot features a lineup of acclaimed writers, including J.M. DeMatteis, J. Michael Straczynski, Ann Nocenti, and Ashley Allen. They’re joined by artists Phil Noto, Alina Erofeeva, Andrea Broccardo, and Luigi Zagaria, bringing a wide range of styles to the character.
