The Iranian Society of Manitoba extends its heartfelt gratitude to all friends, supporters, and participants of the memorial ceremony honoring the beloved souls of January 2026 in Iran. We fully understood that attending such a cultural and humanitarian gathering, at a time when the Islamic Republic continues its threats, pressure, and intimidation against many Iranians, would be far more than a simple act of حضور; it would represent dignity, solidarity, and human courage. This ceremony will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, where we will gather together to honor the memory and names of those who lost their lives on the path to freedom with respect, compassion, and unity. Through your presence, you have shown that the memory of those who gave their lives for freedom will neither fade nor be forgotten. Each one of you carries a powerful message of solidarity and human responsibility within the Iranian community. Due to the overwhelming support from our community, the anticipated tickets are expected to be sold out very soon, and at this moment only 20 tickets remain available. Following the recent conflict and ceasefire, there has been a growing wave of arrests, intimidation, and executions. Families across Iran are once again living with fear, uncertainty, and grief. Many individuals—including civil activists, students, protesters, and ordinary citizens—have reportedly been detained under broad accusations and subjected to unfair judicial processes. For many Iranians around the world, these events reopen painful wounds and renew concerns for loved ones back home. The Iranian Community of Manitoba (ICM) had previously organized the May 15 memorial gathering to honor the memory of the “Javid Naams” — those who lost their lives during the January uprising in the pursuit of freedom, dignity, and justice. In light of recent developments, this gathering now carries even deeper meaning. It is an opportunity for our community to come together in remembrance, solidarity, and shared humanity, while also raising awareness about the continued suffering of many people in Iran. This event is open to all members of the community, regardless of political or ideological background. At its heart, this gathering is about compassion for human life, support for grieving families, and standing together against violence, fear, and the loss of human dignity. Community members who wish to share reflections, memories, poetry, music, or personal messages in remembrance of those affected are warmly welcome to do so. Dear Community Members, The Iranian Community of Manitoba invites you and your family to attend the Javid Nams Commemoration Ceremony for January 2026, to be held on May 15, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. This event is dedicated to honoring the memory of those who have lost their lives, creating a space for reflection, and strengthening unity within our community. The program includes cultural and commemorative elements, followed by a formal dinner reception. Supplementary Statement of the Iranian Community of Manitoba In response to ongoing questions and varied interpretations regarding the May 15 commemoration, we would like to offer further clarification on the nature of the event, concerns about political framing, and the principle of inclusiveness, so that our approach is better understood by the community On the Non-Political Nature of the Program The Iranian Community of Manitoba is a non-partisan organization and operates strictly within a framework that avoids affiliation with, or endorsement of, any political groups, parties, or individuals, and all of its programs, including the May 15 event, are developed and delivered within this mandate The purpose of this program is to honor those who have lost their lives, to create space for empathy, and to strengthen a sense of shared understanding within the community, with elements that are cultural, artistic, and grounded in human values Inviting individuals or receiving messages from public figures does not imply endorsement of their views, and the presence of different perspectives within a public event reflects openness rather than alignment with any specific position The intention is to create a respectful space where different voices can be heard, without suggesting that the Association supports or represents any single viewpoint On Inclusiveness Inclusiveness means that all members of the community, regardless of background or perspective, are able to participate and engage in community programs, and this approach is built on mutual respect and recognition of diversity It does not require agreement or uniformity, but instead encourages the coexistence of different perspectives within a shared and respectful environment The Association has worked to apply this principle through open communication, public invitations, and opportunities for feedback and dialogue In a diverse community, it is natural that symbols, language, and themes may be understood differently, and these differences reflect the reality of the community rather than indicating any specific direction or intent Any program should be understood in its full context and based on its overall purpose, rather than through a limited interpretation of one aspect The focus of this event remains remembrance, respect, and fostering a sense of shared empathy within the community The Iranian Community of Manitoba remains committed to neutrality, respect for diverse perspectives, and the creation of a constructive and respectful environment for dialogue Iranian Community of Manitoba

بیانیه تکمیلی انجمن ایرانیان مانیتوبا در پی ادامه برخی نگرانی‌ها و برداشت‌ها درباره برنامه بزرگداشت ۱۵ می، لازم می‌دانیم توضیحاتی روشن‌تر درباره ماهیت برنامه، موضوع «سیاسی بودن» و مفهوم شمول‌پذیری ارائه کنیم تا درک دقیق‌تری از رویکرد انجمن برای اعضای جامعه فراهم شود درباره غیرسیاسی بودن برنامه انجمن ایرانیان مانیتوبا نهادی غیرحزبی و غیرسیاسی است و بر اساس اساسنامه خود هیچ‌گونه وابستگی یا موضع‌گیری در حمایت از جریان‌ها، احزاب یا چهره‌های سیاسی ندارد، تمامی برنامه‌ها از جمله برنامه ۱۵ می در همین چارچوب طراحی و اجرا می‌شوند این برنامه با هدف گرامی‌داشت یاد جان‌باختگان، ایجاد همدلی و تقویت حس همبستگی در جامعه ایرانیان شکل گرفته و شامل بخش‌های فرهنگی، هنری و حقوق‌بشری است که به‌طور طبیعی در چنین برنامه‌هایی جای دارند دعوت از افراد یا دریافت پیام از چهره‌های مختلف به‌هیچ‌وجه به معنای تأیید دیدگاه‌های آنان یا اتخاذ موضع از سوی انجمن نیست، در برنامه‌های عمومی شنیدن دیدگاه‌های متفاوت امری طبیعی است و نباید به‌عنوان هم‌سویی یا وابستگی سازمانی تعبیر شود انجمن تلاش می‌کند فضایی ایجاد کند که در آن صداها و روایت‌های مختلف در محیطی محترمانه و انسانی مطرح شوند بدون آنکه این امر به معنای جانبداری از یک دیدگاه خاص باشد درباره شمول‌پذیری شمول‌پذیری به این معناست که همه اعضای جامعه با هر پیشینه، تجربه و دیدگاهی امکان حضور و مشارکت داشته باشند و این اصل بر پایه احترام متقابل و پذیرش تفاوت‌ها شکل گرفته است شمول‌پذیری به معنای حذف اختلاف نظر یا یکسان‌سازی دیدگاه‌ها نیست بلکه به معنای ایجاد فضایی است که افراد بتوانند با وجود تفاوت‌ها در کنار یکدیگر حضور داشته باشند و نظر خود را بیان کنند انجمن در عمل نیز این رویکرد را دنبال کرده، اطلاع‌رسانی عمومی، نشست‌های باز، دعوت از همه اعضای جامعه و فراهم کردن امکان طرح پرسش و ارائه نظر بخشی از همین مسیر بوده است در یک جامعه متنوع، برداشت‌ها از نمادها و موضوعات می‌تواند متفاوت باشد و این تفاوت‌ها طبیعی است و به معنای جهت‌گیری برنامه یا انجمن نیست قضاوت درباره هر برنامه باید بر اساس کلیت آن و هدف اصلی آن انجام شود نه بر پایه برداشت محدود از یک بخش، تمرکز این برنامه بر یادبود، احترام و ایجاد همدلی در جامعه است و تمامی اجزای آن در همین راستا تنظیم شده‌اند انجمن ایرانیان مانیتوبا همچنان بر بی‌طرفی، احترام به تنوع دیدگاه‌ها و ایجاد فضای سالم برای گفت‌وگو پایبند است و این مسیر را با مسئولیت‌پذیری ادامه خواهد داد انجمن ایرانیان مانیتوبا

انجمن ایرانیان مانیتوبا با ابراز نگرانی جدی نسبت به تداوم و افزایش موج اعدام‌ها در ایران، این بیانیه را صادر می‌کند گزارش‌های منتشرشده در روزهای اخیر نشان‌دهنده روندی نگران‌کننده از صدور و اجرای احکام اعدام است که در بسیاری از موارد با استانداردهای دادرسی عادلانه و حقوق بنیادین انسانی همخوانی ندارد اعدام، به‌ویژه در شرایطی که دسترسی به وکیل مستقل، دادرسی شفاف و امکان دفاع عادلانه فراهم نیست، نقض آشکار حقوق اساسی انسان‌ها به شمار می‌رود و آثار عمیق و جبران‌ناپذیری بر جامعه بر جای می‌گذارد انجمن ایرانیان مانیتوبا از تمامی نهادهای بین‌المللی، به‌ویژه نهادهای مسئول در حوزه حقوق بشر، درخواست می‌کند که با فوریت به این وضعیت توجه کرده و اقدامات مؤثر و مسئولانه را در دستور کار قرار دهند ضروری است سازوکارهای نظارتی مستقل برای بررسی وضعیت زندانیان و روندهای قضایی فراهم شود تا امکان ارزیابی دقیق و بی‌طرفانه شرایط موجود ایجاد گردد همچنین انتظار می‌رود دولت‌ها و نهادهای ذی‌ربط از ابزارهای دیپلماتیک خود برای تأکید بر توقف این روند و حمایت از اصول بنیادین حقوق بشر استفاده کنند انجمن ایرانیان مانیتوبا بر اهمیت حفظ کرامت انسانی، رعایت عدالت و پایبندی به اصول حقوق بشر تأکید دارد و خواستار توجه جدی به این موضوع در سطح بین‌المللی است انجمن ایرانیان منیتوبا

The Iranian Society of Manitoba expresses deep concern over the continuing wave of executions in the Islamic Republic of Iran and issues this statement. We call on all international bodies, especially the United Nations Human Rights Commission, to take immediate action. Executions—particularly in the absence of fair trials—constitute a clear violation of fundamental human rights. Numerous reports indicate an alarming increase in the number of execution sentences in recent days. This trend not only threatens human lives but also seriously undermines human dignity. We urge the application of effective diplomatic pressure to immediately halt these sentences. It is essential that independent international delegations be sent to Iran to assess the situation of prisoners. Silence from the global community in the face of these actions will only contribute to their continuation. The Iranian Society of Manitoba calls on all governments and human rights organizations to act responsibly. Halting executions is a necessary step toward respecting human rights and justice. Iranian Community of Manitoba (ICM) In recent days, a number of concerns and viewpoints have been raised regarding the May 15 commemorative event. We acknowledge and respect these perspectives, and we believe that constructive, fact-based dialogue is essential for maintaining trust and cohesion within our community. In this spirit, we would like to clarify several important points based on documented information and the processes followed. Nature of the Program and Concerns About “Political Alignment” As outlined in the official announcement, the event includes a combination of cultural, artistic, and human rights–focused elements, including Shahnameh recitation, traditional music, participation of Canadian institutions, and hosting at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. This structure clearly reflects a cultural and community-centered approach focused on remembrance and solidarity—not a partisan or political agenda. Any outreach to public figures—such as requesting a message or participation—has been conducted strictly in the form of invitations, and participation depends entirely on acceptance or decline. Such invitations do not represent endorsement or political alignment. In this context, Dr. Shirin Ebadi was also invited to provide a message or participate virtually. On the Term “Lion and Sun Revolution” The “Lion and Sun” is a long-standing historical symbol of Iran, with roots extending far beyond any single political system or era. It has been used across different periods and carries cultural, historical, and symbolic meanings for diverse groups of Iranians. In contemporary usage, it represents a broad range of interpretations. Therefore, the use of the term “Lion and Sun Revolution” in this program is intended as a symbolic and cultural expression referring to recent social movements and aspirations for dignity and freedom—not as a declaration of support for any specific political system. Reducing this term to a single political interpretation overlooks its historical depth and diverse contemporary meanings. Inclusivity and Community Engagement Within the Canadian context, inclusivity means creating space for diverse perspectives to be present—not excluding them. ICM has followed this principle by publicly announcing meetings, inviting open participation, and providing opportunities for feedback. A general community meeting was announced in advance and held with open attendance, where the program details were transparently presented and attendees were invited to share their views. This reflects a commitment to openness, accountability, and community engagement. Security Considerations and Responsibility We fully recognize the sensitivity of concerns regarding the safety of families in Iran. These concerns are taken seriously. Accordingly, all aspects of the event have been planned with careful consideration, and coordination with appropriate local authorities, including the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS), will be in place to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all participants. The event remains focused on remembrance and community solidarity. Conclusion This program has been designed with the intention of honoring the memory of those lost, fostering unity within the community, and reflecting shared human values. Neither the title of the event, nor its structure, nor its execution constitutes a political position by the organization. ICM remains committed to creating an open and respectful space for dialogue and welcomes constructive, evidence-based feedback. جامعه ایرانیان مانیتوبا در روزهای اخیر، دیدگاه‌ها و نگرانی‌هایی درباره برنامه بزرگداشت ۱۵ می مطرح شده است. ما این نظرات را با احترام می‌شنویم و باور داریم که گفت‌وگوی مبتنی بر واقعیت، شفافیت و مسئولیت‌پذیری جمعی، به تقویت اعتماد در جامعه کمک می‌کند. در همین راستا، لازم می‌دانیم برخی نکات را به‌صورت روشن و مستند با اعضای محترم جامعه در میان بگذاریم. ماهیت برنامه و موضوع «سیاسی بودن» بر اساس اطلاعیه رسمی منتشرشده، این برنامه شامل مجموعه‌ای از عناصر فرهنگی، هنری و حقوق‌بشری است؛ از جمله شاهنامه‌خوانی، موسیقی سنتی، حضور نهادهای کانادایی و برگزاری در موزه حقوق بشر کانادا. این ساختار به‌وضوح نشان می‌دهد که هدف برنامه، ایجاد فضای یادبود، همدلی و بازتاب ارزش‌های انسانی است، نه فعالیت حزبی یا سیاسی. همچنین، هرگونه ارتباط با افراد یا چهره‌های شناخته‌شده—از جمله درخواست پیام یا مشارکت—در چارچوب دعوت انجام شده و وابسته به پذیرش یا عدم پذیرش آنان است و به‌هیچ‌وجه به معنای حمایت یا موضع‌گیری سیاسی انجمن تلقی نمی‌شود. در همین راستا، از سرکار خانم دکتر شیرین عبادی نیز برای ارائه پیام یا مشارکت برخط دعوت به عمل آمده است. درباره عنوان «Lion and Sun Revolution» «شیر و خورشید» یکی از نمادهای تاریخی و ریشه‌دار ایران است که قدمتی طولانی در فرهنگ، هنر و هویت ملی دارد و محدود به یک دوره یا یک نظام سیاسی خاص نیست. این نماد در دوره‌های مختلف تاریخی و توسط طیف‌های متنوعی از جامعه ایران به‌کار رفته و در فضای امروز نیز دارای معانی گوناگون است. بنابراین، استفاده از عنوان «Lion and Sun Revolution» در این برنامه، به‌معنای اعلام حمایت از یک جریان یا نظام سیاسی مشخص نیست، بلکه به‌عنوان یک بیان نمادین و فرهنگی برای اشاره به بخشی از تحولات اجتماعی و خواست‌های آزادی‌خواهانه به‌کار رفته است. تقلیل این مفهوم به یک برداشت محدود سیاسی، نادیده گرفتن ماهیت تاریخی و چندلایه آن است. شمول‌پذیری و مشارکت جامعه در چارچوب‌های پذیرفته‌شده در کانادا، شمول‌پذیری به معنای ایجاد فضایی باز برای حضور و مشارکت دیدگاه‌های مختلف است، نه حذف آن‌ها. انجمن با اعلام عمومی نشست‌ها، دعوت آزاد از تمامی اعضای جامعه و فراهم کردن امکان طرح پرسش و ارائه بازخورد، تلاش کرده است چنین فضایی را ایجاد کند. نشست عمومی ۱۹ اپریل با اطلاع‌رسانی قبلی و حضور آزاد برای همه برگزار شد و در آن، جزئیات برنامه به‌صورت شفاف ارائه و از اعضای جامعه برای ارائه نظر دعوت به عمل آمد. این نشان‌دهنده رویکرد باز و پاسخ‌گوی انجمن در تعامل با جامعه است. ملاحظات امنیتی و مسئولیت‌پذیری نگرانی‌های مرتبط با امنیت خانواده‌ها در ایران قابل درک و جدی است. به همین دلیل، تمامی جنبه‌های برنامه با در نظر گرفتن این حساسیت‌ها طراحی شده و هماهنگی‌های لازم با نهادهای مسئول، از جمله پلیس وینیپگ (WPS)، انجام خواهد شد تا امنیت شرکت‌کنندگان و فضای برنامه به بهترین شکل ممکن تأمین گردد. تمرکز این مراسم بر یادبود و همبستگی است و از هرگونه رویکردی که ممکن است به ایجاد خطر یا سوءبرداشت منجر شود، اجتناب شده است. جمع‌بندی این برنامه با هدف احترام به یاد جان‌باختگان، ایجاد همبستگی در جامعه و بازتاب ارزش‌های انسانی طراحی شده است. نه عنوان برنامه، نه ساختار آن و نه نحوه اجرای آن، نشان‌دهنده موضع‌گیری سیاسی انجمن نیست. در عین حال، انجمن خود را متعهد می‌داند که فضایی باز برای شنیدن دیدگاه‌های مختلف فراهم کند و از نقدهای مستند و سازنده استقبال نماید. امید است این توضیحات بتواند به روشن‌تر شدن موضوع کمک کند و زمینه ادامه گفت‌وگو در فضایی مبتنی بر احترام و درک متقابل را فراهم سازد. با احترام، هیئت‌مدیره انجمن ایرانیان مانیتوبا

گزارش نشست انجمن ایرانیان مانیتوبا – ۱۹ آوریل ۲۰۲۶ اعضای محترم جامعه، انجمن ایرانیان مانیتوبا در تاریخ ۱۹ آوریل ۲۰۲۶ جلسه‌ای عمومی در مرکز اجتماعی داکوتا از ساعت ۶ تا ۸ بعدازظهر برگزار نمود. این نشست با هدف پاسخ به پرسش‌های جامعه، ارائه گزارش فعالیت‌ها، و بررسی برنامه‌های پیش‌رو برگزار شد. این جلسه از دو هفته پیش اطلاع‌رسانی شده بود و در ادامه، دو نوبت دیگر نیز برای افزایش مشارکت جامعه یادآوری و تبلیغ گردید. حضور در این نشست برای تمامی اعضای جامعه آزاد بود و در مجموع حدود ۴۵ نفر از اعضای جامعه ایرانی در آن شرکت داشتند. محورهای اصلی ارائه در این نشست، ارائه‌ای ساختارمند در خصوص فعالیت‌ها و مسیر پیش‌روی انجمن ارائه شد که شامل موارد زیر بود: بررسی منابع مالی و بودجه انجمن نحوه برنامه‌ریزی و اجرای رویدادها فعالیت‌های انجمن در جریان «انقلاب شیر و خورشید» ارائه جزئیات مراسم بزرگداشت جاویدنام‌ها در ۱۵ می معرفی کارگاه‌های توسعه مسیر شغلی شفاف‌سازی منابع مالی و بودجه در این بخش توضیح داده شد که انجمن ایرانیان مانیتوبا یک نهاد غیرانتفاعی است که هر سال برای دریافت کمک‌هزینه از نهادهای مربوطه اقدام می‌کند. این فرآیند شامل ارائه برنامه‌ها، بودجه پیشنهادی و گزارش‌های مالی است. همچنین تأکید شد: دریافت این کمک‌ها قطعی نیست ممکن است میزان دریافتی کمتر از درخواست باشد این منابع عمومی بوده و تحت نظارت قرار دارند در ادامه، نحوه هزینه‌کرد این منابع تشریح شد، از جمله: اجاره مکان برنامه‌ها تهیه تجهیزات اجرای برنامه‌های فرهنگی و آموزشی دعوت از افراد متخصص همچنین به‌طور شفاف بیان شد که این کمک‌ها تنها بخشی از هزینه‌ها را پوشش می‌دهند. دلیل فروش بلیت و نحوه حمایت از جامعه در ادامه توضیح داده شد که به دلیل محدود بودن منابع، بخشی از هزینه برنامه‌ها از طریق فروش بلیت تأمین می‌شود. تأکید شد که: انجمن هیچ‌گونه سودی دریافت نمی‌کند کمک‌هزینه‌ها به کاهش قیمت بلیت کمک می‌کنند برخی برنامه‌ها به‌صورت رایگان یا کم‌هزینه برگزار می‌شوند فعالیت‌های انجمن در جریان «انقلاب شیر و خورشید» در این بخش، اقدامات انجمن در مسیر پیگیری مطالبات جامعه از طریق مسیرهای رسمی و قابل پیگیری تشریح شد. تمرکز انجمن بر این موارد بوده است: اقدام مسئولانه و هدفمند پیگیری در چارچوب‌های رسمی رساندن صدای جامعه به نهادهای تصمیم‌گیر پیگیری در سطح دولت و دانشگاه اقدامات مشخص انجمن در این زمینه شامل: ارسال درخواست رسمی به نخست‌وزیر مانیتوبا دریافت پاسخ و اعلام حمایت از سوی دولت ارتباط با رئیس دانشگاه مانیتوبا پیگیری وضعیت دانشجویان ایرانی در زمان قطع اینترنت دریافت همراهی و پاسخ مثبت از دانشگاه برنامه بزرگداشت جاویدنام‌ها یکی از مهم‌ترین بخش‌های جلسه، ارائه و تشریح جزئیات مراسم بزرگداشت جاویدنام‌ها در تاریخ ۱۵ می ۲۰۲۶ در موزه حقوق بشر مانیتوبا بود. در این بخش، ساختار کامل برنامه، ترتیب بخش‌های رسمی و فرهنگی، محتوای مراسم، و اهداف کلان این رویداد به‌صورت شفاف با جامعه به اشتراک گذاشته شد. همچنین توضیح داده شد که این مراسم با هدف گرامیداشت شایسته جاویدنام‌ها، ایجاد فضایی برای همبستگی جامعه، و ثبت یک یادمان ماندگار در یکی از مهم‌ترین نهادهای حقوق بشری طراحی شده است. در ادامه، از اعضای حاضر دعوت شد تا دیدگاه‌ها، پیشنهادها و بازخوردهای خود را در خصوص نحوه برگزاری این مراسم ارائه دهند تا این برنامه با مشارکت مستقیم جامعه، به بهترین شکل ممکن نهایی و اجرا شود. جمع‌بندی این نشست با هدف شفاف‌سازی، پاسخ‌گویی و ایجاد گفت‌وگوی مستقیم با جامعه برگزار شد و فرصتی فراهم کرد تا مسیر فعالیت‌های انجمن به‌صورت روشن با اعضای جامعه به اشتراک گذاشته شود. همچنین به اطلاع می‌رسد که ویدئوی کامل ارائه در روزهای آینده در کانال تلگرام انجمن ایرانیان مانیتوبا منتشر خواهد شد تا تمامی اعضای جامعه بتوانند به محتوای کامل جلسه دسترسی داشته باشند. با احترام، هیئت‌مدیره انجمن ایرانیان مانیتوبا
