Julius Evola: An Adventurous Life by Andrea Scarabelli — the first definitive biography of the legendary Italian Traditionalist — is a true tome. Weighing in at just under 800 pages, the book includes 83 pages of archival photographs and documents, nearly 2,000 notes, and an extensive index. The volume is opened by the author’s original prefaces to the Italian editions, the French philosopher Alain de Benoist’s foreword to the French edition, and an original foreword to the English edition by Jafe Arnold. The English edition, the product of two years of dedicated work, comes to you in the wonderful translation of Sergio Knipe, and the editing has engaged a whole team of scholars. Thanks to line-by-line collaboration with the author, the English edition has not only been brought up to date with the second Italian and French editions, but is sure to stand out as the foremost edition worldwide. Andrea Scarabelli’s Julius Evola: An Adventurous Life, co-published by PRAV Publishing and Arktos, is *coming soon* in dust-jacketed hardback, paperback, and ebook. *While previously aiming for April 30, further work with the author on enhancing the English edition and printing a proper dust jacket hardcover have us on course to release in early May.* Sign up with PRAV or Arktos to be notified about release!

JULIUS EVOLA: AN ADVENTUROUS LIFE — COMING APRIL 30 A life long obscured by myth, polemic, and deliberate silence is finally brought into full view. Julius Evola: An Adventurous Life by Andrea Scarabelli presents the first definitive account of Julius Evola, grounded in archival research, unpublished material, and extensive documentation. From the avant-garde circles of early 20th-century Europe to esoteric experimentation, from uneasy proximity to Fascist Italy to postwar influence across radical intellectual milieus, Scarabelli reconstructs the full arc of Evola’s life. What emerges is a figure in motion, moving across art, philosophy, and politics with a singular aim: to impose form, hierarchy, and transcendence in an age he saw as descending into dissolution. JULIUS EVOLA: AN ADVENTUROUS LIFE by Andrea Scarabelli Out April 30 from Arktos and PRAV Publishing.

Yuri Mamleev (1931-2015) was the principal founder of the central esoteric society of the late Soviet Union: the Yuzhinsky Circle. Together with Evgeny Golovin and Geidar Dzhemal — later joined by Alexander Dugin — Mamleev hosted a dissident salon in the center of Moscow where the “schizoid underground” would convene to indulge in spirits and explore the metaphysical realm. In 1968, he released his most significant literary work via underground self-publishing, the novel Shatuny. In 1974, Mamleev was exiled from the Soviet Union and landed in New York City, from where he secured a lecturing position at Cornell University. In 1983, he emigrated yet again, this time to France. Mamleev returned to Russia in 1993, becoming a household name and a major figure in the pantheon of Russian literature. MAMLEEV’S AMERICA, translated and edited with an introduction by Charlie Smith, is forthcoming from PRAV Publishing.

COMING SOON: MAMLEEV'S AMERICA Yuri Mamleev (1931-2015) is known today in his native Russia and in some parts of Europe as the founder of an original literary genre known as Metaphysical Realism. While reputed for his uniquely uncanny and disturbing literary investigations of death, metaphysical matters like the Self, and what he called “the Abyss,” little attention to date has been paid to one of Mamleev’s formative spiritual trials: his exile in the United States and the body of writings he produced on the mysterious aura of America. Mamleev’s America marks the first English-language publication of his American writings while also framing an alternate version of the author – the “Other Mamleev” – who both created and was created by New York City in the 1970s, as well as its latent double, the sleepy college hamlet of Ithaca, New York. This unprecedented volume brings together Mamleev’s American Stories (dating to the early 1980s), the roman à clef entitled Wanderings (published posthumously in 2022), and an extensive introduction to Mamleev’s relationship with America, written by Charlie Smith. In these blackly disquieting visions, Mamleev probes the dead-end of Modernity, exposing the underbelly of America’s sanitized Mammonite pseudo-religion and its cult of “winners.” In a sea of psychically uninhabited bodies, televised faces, dislocated mutilations, and self-guided knives in search of lives, Mamleev conjures characters stripped not only of identity, but of Being as such. In Mamleev’s scrying mirror, the surface depravity and spiritual desolation of American life become strangely inverted: what upon first glance seems like a scene from hell is instead revealed to be a singular moment of encounter with the radical Other, a portal opening up to the breath of the Abyss. Mamleev’s America transports the reader into the world lurking behind the façades of our cities, which we otherwise only glimpse through a glass, darkly… https://pravpublishing.com/product/mamleev-america/

« In addition to railing against neo-realism, a movement produced by bourgeois individuals who celebrated the ‘genuineness’ of subaltern classes they only knew from sociology textbooks rather than real life, Evola criticised the spectacle of an electoral system based on universal suffrage, ‘in which the weight of one’s voice is absolutely identical to that – let’s say – not of a street girl (because we hold such a category in great regard), but of a half-retard, a scullery maid, a drunkard, a sellout.’ That being the case, it was better not to play the game at all. To those who would say, ‘With abstentionism and indifference, you cede the field to the enemy!’, Evola offered a hypothetical – albeit not entirely far-fetched – scenario in which ‘some 50 percent of voters abstain. Well, then the system itself would go into crisis; it would become clear that the ‘legal’ representations are not at all the ‘real’ ones; one would have the feeling of an ‘unrepresented’ national force ready to assert itself at the opportune moment.’ Once again, he was talking about us, 70 years in advance. » — Andrea Scarabelli, Julius Evola: An Adventurous Life (forthcoming from PRAV Publishing and Arktos in April).

What is paganism? What does it mean to be a pagan in today’s world? What do the Gods, the Sacred and Myths of pagan tradition
What is paganism? What does it mean to be a pagan in today’s world? What do the Gods, the Sacred and Myths of pagan traditions tell us about what has transpired over past millennia? And how do the developments of recent centuries affect our understanding of them? Polemos: The Dawn of Pagan Traditionalism takes up these and other penetrating questions in a conceptual tour de force, exploring a worldview long thought lost under the weight of monotheistic conversions, the science and technology of Western Modernity, and the deconstructions and simulacra of Postmodernism. In this wide-ranging study and compelling manifesto, Askr Svarte illustrates how, far from a fragmentary relic of the past, paganism is very much alive and wields a critical analysis of the past, present, and future with the potential to return to the forefront of consciousness. Polemos: The Dawn of Pagan Traditionalism, the first book of the two-volume work published in Russian in 2016, sets out not only to rediscover and redefine the pagan legacy, but to orient paganism’s understanding of the paradigms which have confronted it. Titled after the ancient Greeks’ divine representation of war, which the philosopher Heraclitus deemed “the father and king of all”, Polemos maps paganism’s positions on the battlefield of ideas between paradigms, polemics, and trends. From ancient rites and myths to contemporary technologies and socio-cultural dynamics, few stones are left unturned in this extensive articulation of the pagan worldview in the twenty-first century. Polemos: The Dawn of Pagan Traditionalism, translated by Jafe Arnold, is available from PRAV Publishing in hardcover, paperback, and ebook editions: https://pravpublishing.com/product/polemos-the-dawn-of-pagan-traditionalism/

In the beginning was the word: Mythos. In the unfathomable depths of language and at the dizzying heights of philosophy and theology, man is Homo Mythicus, the being who can hear and tell the unfolding tale of Heaven, Earth, Divinities, Mortals, and Things. Alas, in the dark night of the modern world factory, the echoes of the ancient myths have fallen silent, but lone voices might still dare to ask the question, and lone ears might still attune themselves to hearken: will Another Myth resound for a new beginning? Askr Svarte’s Towards Another Myth: A Tale of Heidegger and Traditionalism is a daring exploration of the thickets and abysses of the myth of Being that our world, our history, and we ourselves are. In the ancient revelations of India, Greece, and Germania, in the books of Western philosophy and in the lifeworld of South American tribes, between the lines and fates of modern European poetry, and in the wake of Heidegger and Traditionalist thought, Askr Svarte traces a captivating panorama of the mythopoetic dimension and invites us to ready ourselves for myth anew. Rather than reconstructing the past, Towards Another Myth invites us to rediscover the uncanny mystery of the myth calling to us from within, awaiting its — our — “new” beginning. Towards Another Myth, translated by Jafe Arnold, is available from PRAV Publishing in hardcover, paperback, and ebook editions: https://pravpublishing.com/product/towards-another-myth/

The cosmic map of the 21st century exhibits imbalance and disorder. On one end of the Eurasian continent, Europe faces a deep civilizational, philosophical, and spiritual crisis, its Logos rapidly dissipating in the whirl of Chaos alongside the breakdown of the modern Western world order. At the same time, on the other end of the continent, China is on an historic rise, posing with newfound relevance the perspectives of Sinitic civilization on world order. Can reorientations for the Western Logos be found in the heritage of Sinitic thought? Can revived European and Chinese traditions find common ground? In this vast and intensive essay, Xantio Ansprandi pursues a “mazeway resynthesis” that puts Western and Eastern metaphysics into transformative dialogue. It emerges that Sinitic thinking, centered around the Ru tradition, encompasses a rich framework for not only reconfiguring lost and distorted dimensions of Western thought, but for reawakening the common, harmonious horizons of Eurasian civilizations. Drawing on a rigorous array of comparative mythography and linguistics, philosophical insights, and contemporary Sinological scholarship, the author reconstructs the axes of the Sinitic cosmos and identifies “gaps” and “lines of potentiality” vis-à-vis Western thought. In the hermeneutic panorama of “Eurasian Universism”, the Greek Logos meets the Chinese Li, thymos meets shen, and Martin Heidegger, Jacques Lacan, Ernesto de Martino and other thinkers meet Confucian sages to challenge Postmodernity with Aleksandr Dugin. Eurasian Universism: Sinitic Orientations for Rethinking the Western Logos is a meta-philosophical bridge between worlds in pursuit of realigning Heaven and Earth. Eurasian Universism is available from PRAV Publishing in hardcover, paperback, and ebook editions. 👉🏻 Order from PRAV
