Another Way to Eat Less
It seems that scientists have invented the most effective device for weight loss, called DentalSlim Diet Control, which literally closes a person's mouth!
The device consists of several metal clips with magnets. It is placed on the upper and lower jaw teeth by the dentist.
Once the device is triggered, the jaws instantly snap shut, closing the mouth, which can only open 2 millimeters to breathe, speak, drink water, and eat food in liquid form only.
Research participants using this device lost an average of 6.36 kg in two weeks!

What's the magic?
In order to better examine the effects of pollutants on fish, Taiwanese scientists inserted jellyfish genes into the DNA of koi carps, resulting in these luminous aquarium fish!

How do Water Ripples Appear?
The ripples you see on the surface of seas and lakes arise from both the upward force of internal water pressure and the surface tension force.
Both forces alternate and lots of ripples form on the water.
This resembles the sound wave that occurs in the string of a musical instrument as it's alternately stretched and squeezed.

DNA in the Air
Scientists have come up with a way of detecting the tiniest traces of DNA in the air.
The discovery, for example, enables studying wild animals, which normally live in hard-to-reach places, deserts, rainforests, caves, etc. Otherwise, it could transform forensic investigations at crime scenes, or on-site processes (rubble, etc.).
This is no longer just a theory⚡ The DNA collection technique was tested in a zoo by installing sensitive filters attached to vacuum pumps at 20 points throughout the facility.
The equipment appeared so sensitive that it picked up DNA from pets living in the zoo's neighborhood and animals that were food for predators.
Though the technique is in the early stages of study, it shows impressive results.
No less epic results with human DNA.
Exciting prospects are coming up in forensics...

Firecracker Explosion Under Water
When you ignite the stuffing of the firecracker – gunpowder – it burns rapidly, thereby generating large amounts of gases and creating excess pressure, which bursts the shell of the firecracker. Thus, an explosion occurs.

Anyone Can Do This
If you want to create such a ring, you don't have to be Sauron and forge it on Mount Orodruin. All you need is epoxy resin and affordable luminescent strontium aluminate powder. Strontium aluminate SrO∙Al₂O₃ (SrAl₂O₄) is a photoluminophore.
In other words, if you hold it in the light, it will glow up to several hours after such charging.

Robots Will Make Sure You Behave
Singapore has started testing robots to patrol public places and prevent bad behavior. However, unlike Detroit, Singapore ranks as one of the safest countries in the world, and local robots will do quite harmless things like watching the distance to avoid getting COVID, prohibiting smoking in crowded places and making sure not to throw bikes wherever people want.
Two patrol robots named Xavier, equipped with cameras whose images will be analyzed by Artificial Intelligence, will report "bad behavior" to the control center in real-time, and instruct the population on proper behavior.
Given the number of police cameras per capita, which is predicted to be 200,000 by 2030, the government intends to look into the most hidden corners of the city, without missing a single square meter.

Such miracles are possible if you know exactly what the Leidenfrost effect is
Here is a little trick: a grooved surface heated much higher than the boiling point of the liquid. That's where the effect, named after Johann Gottlob Leidenfrost, occurs.
An elastic layer of vapor forms under the liquid droplets. As it is a poor heat conductor, the droplet evaporates slowly. And the tricky grooving "pushes" it upwards.

Deionized Water
If you want to make such a bridge between the glasses, you have to fill them with water, not plain water, but deionized one. This is highly clean water, which contains almost no impurities. Its resistivity is 18 megohm-cm, and its purity equals 99.99999991%.
Placing electrodes in the glasses and applying high voltage to them allows deionized water to form a stable cylindrical bridge between the two glasses, as we see on the gif.
