Everything else is a distraction; He is the destination of the gaze. When your run feels uncertain, look to the One whose work is complete. His completion guarantees yours. Sin is the active entanglement. Both must go. You cannot run well while heavily burdened and bound at the same time. You are also not running alone. You may be in a moulting season right now, a phase where old things are falling away, where you feel exposed and vulnerable, where the familiar has been stripped. Do not despise this season. This is the key distinction between human resilience and divine sustenance. Human resilience eventually runs dry. The believer whom the Spirit of God supplies does not merely survive drought seasons; they become a resource for others in the midst of one. The thoughts that say, "you cannot," "it is too late," "God has forgotten you, these must be confronted with a renewed mind that counters every lie with truth.
