For the soul: I’ve no clue what the Germans are singing about here — but German always sounds to me as either good old porno or WW2 movie lol. Kein Traum is the kind of track that makes you buy the whole record without hesitation. There’s Vertrau Dein Leben Ihm An on there too, but for me, Kein Traum is the clear standout. I’ve got a soft spot for this sort of neutral emotional space — slightly elevated, but with a gentle veil of melancholy. Balance, really. 🎵 Another Eclectic Drop for the Sonic Seekers 🎵 Today — as per usual — I’ve got an eclectic blend of music for you. What genuinely surprised me though, is that there are now a few subscribers who just follow the musical navigation I provide — no download links, no Telegram channels, no bells and whistles. I message them like, “Hey, here’s a link to the channel,” and they go, “No worries, we’re just here to vibe and read.” That’s the level! That’s culture! Earlier today I was deep-diving through some old jazz stacks and came across a Booker Ervin record. One track immediately stood out: “A Day to Mourn.” It hit with a quiet gravity — and I couldn’t resist. As you know, bebop cats have this thing where they’ll break a long, meditative solo with these almost jarring runs — probably to keep it fresh. But I’ve never quite vibed with that approach. So I performed a little sonic surgery. Just a light trim, something tasteful. What came out is edit number 50 in my PML CUT series (Peaceful Monkey Leader, yep, that’s still a thing). Naming edits is always a trip… and today’s title? Well, let’s just say it’s loosely inspired by the news cycle — and the church. But the edit? It’s pure contemplation. Writing this while looping it in the background, and it holds the room. Also in the drop: ✨ Two absolute standouts from Wolfgang Staedele. Think something between disco-funk, space rock, and synth pop. Retro-futurist, very “Space”-adjacent vibes. The rip is old — circa 2008 — so if you’re into the tracks but wish they hit a bit harder sonically, message me. I can send it off to my studio wizard for a proper beef-up. 💔 One heartfelt ballad from Arik Einstein titled “What’s With Me?” I’ve got a real love for Arik. In the context of Israeli music, he’s basically Lennon-level — foundational. Scene-defining. 🛠️ And finally, one tool track. Yes, it came out digitally in 2009, but the digital version lacks presence. This one’s ripped from vinyl, and properly lifted to club weight.
