Most traders calculate risk as a percentage of their initial balance.
But if risk is calculated as a percentage of the current balance, something interesting happens.
Profits compound faster while losses naturally decrease during losing periods.
I call this Dynamic Risk.
Because of this, traders can choose between:
Fixed Risk
Risk calculated from the initial balance.
Dynamic Risk
Risk calculated from the current account balance.
Yesterday we talked about Strategy and how a tool can help define and follow a setup.
Today I want to talk about the second core element of trading.
Risk Management.
Risk Management includes things like R units, Risk-to-Reward ratios, exposure, position sizing and more.
A strategy tells you when to trade.
Risk Management tells you how much to risk.
Even a strong strategy becomes useless if it is not supported by proper Risk Management.
I’ll try to keep each message as short as possible while still giving you all the important information.
There’s a lot to cover and many tools to share, but I’ll send them step by step, focusing only on what matters most.
The examples I use are simple, just to make sense of the setup as defined above.
By the end, you’ll have the complete picture.

Setup elements
- Breakout
- HTF candle closes above level X
- LTF liquidity forms
- Liquidity is taken
- LTF candle engulfs
- Entry on candle high with fixed 2R TP
Decision tree
1. Is there a breakout?
Yes → continue
No → no trade
2. Did an HTF candle close above level X?
Yes → continue
No → no trade
3. Is liquidity formed on LTF?
Yes → continue
No → no trade
4. Was liquidity swept?
Yes → continue
No → continue & setup becomes B grade instead of A+
5. Did the candle that swept liquidity engulf?
Yes → setup confirmed
No → no trade
Result: A+ setup confirmed
Action: Entry on candle high with fixed 2R TP
Set it up once, use it every time.
Choose from 4–5 strategies whenever you trade.
To solve this, I built a tool. Inside the tool, the trader defines the elements of a setup and assigns a grade to it (A+, A, B, or C).
Then the setup is organized into a decision tree using IF > THEN logic.
This means every step of the setup has a clear confirmation rule.
The goal is simple.
Remove uncertainty and remove unnecessary decision making while watching the market.
You no longer guess what is happening.
You simply follow a predefined sequence of checks.
This project is quite complex, so the best place to start is with the basic needs of a trader.
Strategy.
Risk Management.
Discipline.
Let’s start with Strategy.
A trading strategy should answer three simple questions:
1. What elements define a setup?
2. How are those elements confirmed on the chart?
3. How do we classify the quality of the setup?
Most traders don’t clearly define these things.
And that’s where confusion usually starts.
Over the next few days I’ll break this project into several parts.
Today I want to start with the first core problem most traders face: strategy clarity.

It is unique in that it represents my perspective shaped by nearly a decade (+8 years) of real trading experience.
