A World Health Assembly Debrief - Unpacking the IHRs and the Pandemic Treaty at the 77th World Health Assembly We are delighted to announce our first in a series of webinars where we will unpack the recent 77th World Health Assembly in Geneva, and discuss the way forward.  Katie Ashby-Koppens will host our first online event, with guests Professor Robyn Cosford and Dr David Bell. Prof Cosford recently returned from Geneva where she was invited to attend The Inspired Global Leadership Summit. Dr Bell is a former medical officer and scientist at the World Health Organization (WHO). Lots of mixed messaging this morning after the WHA met yesterday. From what we understand, the WHO have now formed a drafting committee to push the IHRs across the line. They are determined to get as many amendments through as possible. “Australian attorney Katie Ashby-Koppens, who helped advocate for New Zealand’s rejection of a previous set of IHR amendments last year, told The Defender, “I don’t know that we should be celebrating the failure to reach agreement at this stage as a milestone.” “ So our take at ACA is; Yes, they’ve failed so far. Amendments to the 2005 International Heath Regulations 2. A new pandemic treaty or agreement. Neither documents have received consensus and will both be discussed today at the Assembly at 2.30pm Geneva time (10.30pm AEST). If you’d like to watch the live stream, click the link here. . AN IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENT 🛎🛎 AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL PARLIAMENT Planned motions will call for Justice Helen Rofe to be investigated in relation to her handling of the 'GMO Case'. Senators Malcolm Roberts and Pauline Hanson have committed to bringing a motion in the Senate that both houses of parliament should establish a Commission investigating misconduct by Justice Rofe. The Motion will be tabled in the parliamentary sitting starting the 24 June pursuant to the Judicial Misbehaviour and Incapacity (Parliamentary Commission) Act 2012 (JMI Act). Senator Roberts expects to have the support of other Senators, including Senators Babet, Rennick and Antic. Mr Russell Broadbent, MP will introduce the same motion concurrently into the House of Representatives and expects to obtain support from other MPs. A Commission pursuant to the JMI Act would be required to report on whether there is evidence that Justice Rofe's conduct amounted to 'misbehaviour'. This finding would not be binding on parliament, but would lead to a conscience vote by Senators and MPs. Should a majority of Senators and MPs agree that Justice Rofe's conduct amounted to 'misbehaviour', the Governor-General would be required to remove her from office. Senator Malcolm Roberts: This will be "'a watershed' moment in Australian history .. and it will begin the process of righting some of the Covid wrongs brought to bear on the Australian People, while helping to clear the way forward for true justice to be done in the critical GMO proceedings." THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE THE JUDICIARY ACCOUNTABLE A Complaint regarding Justice Rofe's misconduct has been made to the Court, and to all Members and Senators of Parliament.
