Does your child know the difference between a cube and a cuboid? 🤔
Here's a quick recap of what they need to know for Primary Maths! 👇
📌 The Formula
Volume = Length × Breadth × Height
(units must be the same — e.g. all in cm → answer in cm³)
📌 Special case — Cube:
Since all sides are equal → Volume = Side × Side × Side
📌 Finding a Missing Dimension?
Divide the volume by the product of the two known dimensions.
E.g. Height = Volume ÷ (Length × Breadth)
📌 Finding Water Level in a Tank?
Water Level = Volume of Water ÷ Base Area of Tank
⚠️ Watch out for these common mistakes!
❌ Writing "60 cm" instead of "60 cm³"
❌ Mixing units (e.g. metres and centimetres) without converting first
❌ Only multiplying 2 dimensions instead of all 3
❌ Using volume ÷ volume to find how many small cubes fit — always divide dimension by dimension instead!
