Ugh I'm so stressed about what I'm gonna wear to my wedding. (Im single) but its genuinely such a difficult decision, how does one just pick a wedding dress

I discovered I could write because of my dad. I was in grade 7 I think. Dad had come home, sat me and my sister down and told us to write about a topic. I dont remember if he gave me the topic of Abay/GERD or if I picked it but I started writing about that. I put pen to paper and all these thoughts and word combinations I didnt know I had started tumbling down as if I pulled on the loose end of a thread. I wrote and wrote and wrote. 3 pages to be exact. I'd never written anything that was not class notes or an assignment at that time. I kept going back, erasing sentences, restructuring paragraphs and finding synonyms. It was like some dormant part of my brain woke up that day. All of a sudden all I did was write. Journal entries and random scenes and angry crash outs over yet another fight with my sister. And all these years later I still write. Its my main way of self expression and emotional processing. I cannot imagine my life without writing. And I still think about how I didn't even know I could write until my dad asked me to write that an essay on a random Tuesday. Ps. No, I will not share that essay. You can't pay me to post it. (Actually mahbe you could, depending on how much) Pps. After going back and reading it, you absolutely cannot pay me to share that essay. #short

Well today we are doing powder XRD which is a technique where you subject your power sample to x rays and measure at which angles the rays diffract. That tells you the atomic and crystal structure of the material. Each material will have its own xrd pattern so you can take the data you get and compare it with xrd pattern in literature and the ICDD database to find out what exactly your sample is. In this case I was synthesising MER zeolite (aka zeolite W) is a micro to nano pourous material. It is found in nature. After its discovery it started getting attention because of its highly structured pores and cages which can be used in many applications such as carbon dioxide adsorbtion and catalysis. The adsroption of CO2 on multiple types of zeolites has been researched before. However, there are very little studies that show how exactly the adsorbtion happenes and what occures at the molecular level. So Im making this sample to optimize the synthesis, keep doing it again and again by tweaking some parameters to get the exact morphology we require. Then the samples will be analyzed using ssNMR to study the mechanism of adsorbtion. I am just a small part of this huge research project but its truly inspiring to work on real science, ask questions that have never been asked before and potentially find the answers. #chem_diaries or smt
