🚢Chinese media reported Sealegend Shipping will launch this summer the first regular China–Europe container service via the NSR, with weekly sailings. SR asked Rosatom CEO A. Likhachev if foreign cargo "shuttles" will indeed ply the NSR.
"Sealegend plans to launch the first regular route to Europe. Rosatom has issued permits for seven vessels. Unlike previous experimental or one-off shipments, the 2026 program provides full-fledged liner service with weekly departures throughout the navigation season," said Likhachev.
🚢The ships will run on schedule in August-October, ice permitting. China plans eight voyages using seven small-and medium-class container vessels. Likhachev noted rising container voyages by Chinese firms: 7 in 23, 14 in 24, 24 in 25, and over 30 expected this year. China–Russia port shipments already account for nearly 15% of NSR cargo traffic. Joint plans target 20 mln. tons by 2030.

What makes them so special?
🔹 Ordinary clouds float at 10–15 km, but these are at 75–85 km in the mesosphere. That's practically space!
🔹 They consist of tiny ice crystals that form on meteor dust particles. Yes, these clouds contain particles from distant outer space.
🔹 When it's already deep night on the ground, the sun still illuminates them from above. That's why they shine with a soft silvery-blue light against the dark sky — a mesmerizing sight!
By the way, silvery clouds are a seasonal phenomenon. They can only be seen in summer, during twilight, when the sun is 6–16° below the horizon. The ideal time is right after sunset or before dawn.
