Yahyā Ibn Kathīr رحمه الله said:
A man keeps fast with Halāl and breaks with Ḥarām by eating the flesh of his brother (backbiting).

﴿وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ﴾ Perhaps Allah wanted to reassure your heart at this very moment. No matter how difficult the path may seem, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. For your Lord is Most Kind and Gracious to His servants; He disposes all affairs with wisdom and mercy, and He brings ease after hardship, and relief after distress. Trust in Allah, think well of Him, and persist in your supplication. For never has a servant failed who placed their hope in Him, nor has anyone gone astray who entrusted their affairs to Him. Perhaps what you are waiting for is near, and perhaps the goodness Allah has decreed for you is far greater than anything you could ever imagine. "And whoever places their trust in Allah, then He is sufficient for them." (Quran 65:3)

"The afflicted person only complains to others when he is in isolation from Allah and has not tasted the sweetness of supplication and the pleasure of complaining to Allah. Complaining to Allah is honor and happiness. It is enough for the troubled and distressed person to relieve his worries that Allah hears and knows his situation before he complains to Him. The created beings do not know your situation until you complain to them"

Ibn Al-Jawzi rahimahullah states:
Know that recompense is inevitable: whether it relates to a good deed or an evil one. It is delusional for the sinner to think that if he is not immediately punished, then he has been pardoned. The punishment may come after some time, and rarely does one commit a sin without eventually facing its consequences. Allāh the Exalted has said:
Whoever does evil will be recompensed for it.

The Virtue of the Month of Allāh, Muharram. The Prophet (ﷺ) was asked: Which prayer is best after the obligatory prayers, and which fasting is best after the month of Ramadan? He (ﷺ) said: The best prayer after the prescribed prayer is prayer in the middle of the night (tahajjud), and the best fasting after the month of Ramadan is fasting in the month of Allah, Muharram. Sahih Muslim 1163 (2756)

If it is content, it makes the one who lives in a pit seem as though he owns the whole world; and if it is miserable, it makes the owner of the whole world seem like one who lives in a pit.

The purpose of du'ā is not to inform Allāh (of your needs for He already knows). Rather, it is to manifest your fragility, humility and brokenness before Him, and to acknowledge that everything is from Allāh.

From Abu Hurairah from the Messenger of Allaah [ﷺ] who said:  Whoever says when he goes to his bed to sleep:
'There is none worthy of worship in truth except Allaah Alone, He has no partners, He has the Dominion and for Him is all praise. He is capable of all things, there is no capability nor is there any power except with Allaah, far is Allaah from imperfection and praise is for Him, there is none worthy of worship in truth except Allaah and Allaah is the Greatest.
Then his sins are forgiven – or his mistakes – even if they were like the foam on the sea. [Collected By Ibn Hibban | Ibn Sunni In 'Amal Al-Yawm Wal Layla' | Abu Na'eem In 'Akhbar Asbaahan' | Sh. Al-Albaani: 'Hasan' In Silsilah As-Saheehah, (No. 3414)]

The poverty from which refuge would be sought was the poverty of the heart.

If you live in a time in which people are content with speech without action, and with knowledge without implementation, then know that you are in the worst of times among the worst of people.
Ibṭāl al-Ḥiyal: (1/34)

If you find yourself in confusion then adhere to seeking forgiveness. Indeed by seeking forgiveness, Allaah opens up the way for the slave.
[Sharh Al-Kafeeya Ash-Shafeeya, (3/189)]

The smallest grain of goodness—even if it seems insignificant—carries weight in the balance. So do not neglect it, nor belittle any act of kindness, for perhaps a single grain may save its doer from the fire.
