Repost from N/a
Exactly 1 month is left for the prelims exam. Some things to keep in mind in this last month: 1. CSAT: It can ruin your entire year of preparation. You must give at least 2 hours to CSAT on a daily basis. If you are scared of maths, then focus on low-hanging fruits like Percentage, Time & Speed, Time & Work, and easy questions of Permutation and Probability. Give at least 2 simulated tests of GS and CSAT in an exam environment to get accustomed to exam situations. Practice is the key in this month. 2. Mock Test: I suggest to give only 2 simulated GS & CSAT tests from any coaching institute in the next 15 days. Don’t fall into the trap of any coaching mocks. Even if you are scoring low in these tests, there is no need to feel demotivated in this last month. 3. PYQ: PYQ is the most vital component in the last month. PYQ should be your best companion in this month. Go through each and every question and option of the last 5 years multiple times. Analyze the statements of the options and try to understand the language of statements. This will help you tackle 40-50 questions, which is a big number. 4. Left out things: Don’t run behind various crash courses to cover either the static portion or current affairs. In the last month, you can’t do much about the things you have never read, so don’t run behind any new sources. This will only create confusion and panic in your preparation. But if you have never read things for subjects like Ancient history or Medieval history and it is hampering your complete preparation, then give 2-4 days and complete it in one go from any coaching compilation. 5. Current Affairs: Give only 1-2 hours for current affairs, and this should be your last priority of the day. You can prioritize the subjects in this order: Environment-IR-Economy-Science & Tech-Society-Polity. Read the source you are already referring to, like a monthly magazine or PT 365. Don’t change the source and don’t go for any crash course. Coaching tests will unnecessarily give more weightage to current affairs. Don’t feel demotivated about this. 6. Static: Static was and will always be the king in prelims. So, revise the static source multiple times and at a rapid pace. In the last 30 days, I revised the static portion three times in 15-10-5 days. This will boost your confidence and will also help to navigate tricky questions. 7. Trust in your hard work and preparation. Don’t lose out on any day in this month. Try to maximize your study hours to approximately 10-12 hours. If you are a night owl, start changing your sleeping pattern because you have to be at your full potential between 9:30-11:30 and 2:30-4:30. Believe in your hard work, be confident in your preparation, and go full throttle in the last 30 days.
