Military Statement issued by Al-Qassam Brigades: With pride, honor, and steadfast defiance,the Al-Qassam Brigades mourns the ascent to the highest heavens of a senior commander, one of the primary leaders of the Palestinian Resistance, and one of its most prominent figures who chose to work in the shadows for decades, and the companion of great leaders: The Great Martyr Commander/ Mohammed Ali Odeh "Abu Amro" Chief of the General Staff of the Al-Qassam Brigades Who attained martyrdom yesterday evening, Tuesday, the 9th of Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH-May 26, 2026, in a cowardly assassination operation that resulted in his martyrdom, alongside his wife and children, and the death and injury of several civilians. This is yet another crime committed by those who break covenants, those who respect neither kinship nor treaty toward a believer, as part of a continuous series of atrocities spanning nearly two and a half years of a relentless genocide. What a glorious ending it is for our heroic commander to be chosen by Allah on the best and greatest of days-the blessed Day of Arafah, on the eve of the Day of Sacrifice (Eid al-Adha)—in the ultimate expression of sacrifice. For what sacrifice is greater than a man offering his soul, his blood, and his family as a devotion to Allah Almighty? Our commander and his family have departed to join their beloved son, the martyr Amro, and the long caravan of our people’s martyrs, leaders, and fighters on the path to liberation, by the will of Allah. Our distinguished commander left his mark across all fields of Jihad and resistance: from the battlefield to military manufacturing workshops, through commanding the Northern Brigade, the General Staff of Weapons and Combat Services, and the Military Intelligence Directorate, where he played a pivotal role in the success of the glorious October 7th incursion, to commanding defensive battles in Northern Gaza during the "Al-Aqsa Flood," ultimately assuming the role of Chief of the General Staff, succeeding the great commander Abu Suhaib al-Haddad (may Allah have mercy on him). His monumental journey will remain a beacon for generations. The ferocity of the battle, the intensity of the assault against our people and resistance, and the Zionist tyranny and barbarism are surely the final chapters of this Nazi occupation—an occupation whose autumn has begun, its roots have withered, and upon which the curse of innocent blood and the suffering of the oppressed has descended. The blood of our great commanders will only increase our resolve to continue the path of resistance, deepen our conviction in the righteousness of our approach, and drive us to complete the journey our people have been undertaking for nearly a century, until Allah grants us the liberation of our land and our sanctities from the filth of the usurpers. Al-Qassam Brigades mourns martyrdom of top Qassam commander Ezzeddin al-Haddad With pride and defiance, the Ezzeddin Al-Qassam Brigades mourns the martyrdom of one of its most prominent military leaders: Ezzeddin al-Haddad “Abu Suhaib,” commander-in-chief of the Al-Qassam Brigades, who was killed in a cowardly assassination carried out by the criminal enemy [Israeli occupation forces]. The strike also claimed the lives if his wife, daughter, and a number of our inncocent Palestinians. He now joins his two sons, Suhaib and Mo'men, who were killed during the Al-Aqsa Flood battle. The top Qassam commander al-Haddad spent decades in resistance and military activity, playing a major role in the operation October 7 and later leading the defensive battle in Gaza City. Then he assumed leadership of the Qassam Brigades’ General Staff following the martyrdom of great leaders Mohammed Deif and Mohammed Sinwar. The killing of senior leaders would not halt their path, as leaders will be replaced by leaders, and that the continued assassinations and violations by the settler colonial occupation only demonstrate its disregard for agreements, commitments and mediators'efforts. Our people’s struggle for freedom will continue until liberating our land and al-Aqsa Mosque from the occupiers.
