بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم The One Who Truly Fears Allaah Ibn Rajab رحمه الله reported that some of the Salaf would say: ليس الخائف من بكي وعصر عينيه، "The person who fears Allāh is not the one who weeps and sheds tears, إنما الخائف من ترك ما اشتهى من الحرام إذا قدر عليه، but rather, the person who truly fears Allāh is the one who abandons what he desires of the ḥarām when he has the ability to do it. ومن هنا عظم ثواب من أطاع الله سرا بينه وبينه. بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Do Not Swear An Oath By The Ka'bah! It was narrated from 'Abdullaah Ibn Yasaar, from Qutaylah, a woman from Juhaynah, that a Jew came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: "You are setting up equals (to Allaah) and associating others (with Him). You say: 'Whatever Allaah wills and you will,' and you say: 'By the Ka'bah.'" So the Prophet (ﷺ) commanded them, if they wanted to swear an oath, to say: "By the Lord of the Ka'bah;" and to say: "Whatever Allaah wills, then what you will." [Sunan An-Nasaaee, No. 3773. بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم He Didn't Leave Behind Righteous Children... قال الإمام ابن كثير رحمه الله: ماتَ ابنُ تيمية فكشفتُ عن وجهه وقبَّلتُه وقد علاهُ الشَّيبُ أكثر مما فارقناه لم يتركْ ولداً صالحاً يدعو له لكنه تركَ أُمَّةً صالحةً تدعو له. [البداية والنهاية ١٨/٣٠٠] Al-Imaam Ibn Katheer, [may Allaah have mercy on him] said: “[Shaykh ul-Islaam] Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy on him] died and I revealed his face and kissed him. Signs of greyness were apparent, more than before he departed from us.
