📚 Selection Post Graduation Post – Exam Analysis | Section-wise Review 18 sept | shift 1 🧠 Reasoning Overall easy but time-consuming. • A lot of analytical reasoning questions had long statements/paragraphs, so you need to read and understand the information before selecting the option. • Clock-based questions were asked. • Questions like mod [(30+45) × 60] were seen. • A few questions were of new types. Since you may be seeing them for the first time, they can take some time. 👉 Nothing to worry about. Speed + proper skipping strategy will be very important. 🌍 General Studies (GS) There were a few conventional questions, along with some out-of-the-box/new questions. 👉 My advice: Jitna syllabus kar rahe ho, utna hi achhe se karo. The completely new questions may not be solvable by anyone unless you have somehow encountered them before. In such questions, use elimination + educated guessing where appropriate. Don’t waste too much time trying to crack 2–3 completely unfamiliar questions. ➗ Maths The concepts are still the same, but the way some questions are being framed is changing. For example, instead of directly asking a concept, they may give a situation/example and then ask something related to direct tangent, etc. In 2-3 questions, You may have to read 3–4 lines just to understand what the question is actually asking. 👉 Don’t panic. The underlying concepts remain the same. There may be 3–4 confusing/new-type questions — if a question is taking too much time to understand, skip it and move ahead. 🇬🇧 English Overall easy, but you need to actually understand English. ⚠️ Students relying only on rote learning may struggle with some questions. • Cloze Test: Easy • PQRS: Easy — use elimination • Vocabulary: Easy, nothing particularly new • Grammar: Understanding is important For example, an adverb-based fill-in-the-blank question may require you to understand which adverb actually fits the statement. This is something that improves through reading + understanding, not just memorising rules. ✍️ Narration & Voice Prepare transformation patterns involving: had / had not / did not / won’t → wouldn’t, etc. Also prepare degree comparison properly, especially: • Positive Degree • Comparative Degree • Superlative Degree 📖 Vocabulary For vocabulary, PYQs are enough to focus on first. Don’t unnecessarily try to memorise thousands of random words. ⸻ 🔥 Overall Takeaway The paper is not necessarily difficult because the concepts are completely new. The bigger challenge is that questions are increasingly being framed in unfamiliar ways, which can consume time. Join @studywithdev978
