Morning Alert.. *Jio listing in spotlight as telecom players weigh tariff increases* India’s largest mobile operators are weighing a fresh round of headline tariff increases over the next two quarters, as Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea seek to bolster their return on investments ahead of a wave of capital spending, including on data centres. The tariff increases could come before or around the planned listing of Jio, industry executives and analysts said. Mobile tariff in India is among the lowest in the world despite the capital intensive nature of the industry. Minor changes to some tariff plans may anyway continue to take place on the sidelines, they said. The average revenue per user (Arpu) of major telcom companies have been on the rise over the last one year without any major headline tariff changes as customers moved to more premium data plans. “The timing of the next tariff hike is being closely watched. If the Jio IPO happens in the Navratri period, the expectation is that a hike may be just before that,” said a senior industry executive who did not want to be named. “The call for tariff repair or correction of tariff architecture has been growing louder… any uptick in tariff adds to Arpu and therefore the market value of the telcos,” the person added, indicating a potential bump up for Jio’s IPO which is expected to be the largest ever, estimated to raise ₹37,700 crore. *Global market action* Dow Jones – Up by 0.21% or 109.62 points FTSE – Down by 0.58% or 61.14 points CAC – Down by 0.49% or 39.91 points DAX – Down by 0.85% or 215.30 points Gift Nifty – Down by 0.49% or 114.50 points *FII/DII activities* FII – Sold 438.24Cr worth of shares DII – Bought 1025.85Cr worth of shares. *Major Indian Indices PE* Nifty 50 – 19.8x Nifty Bank – 13.4x *Stocks with high delivery percentage* Bikaji Foods International Ltd – 92% LG Electronics India Ltd – 86.8% Sobha Ltd – 80.7% The Ramco Cement Ltd – 80.4% Deepak Nitrite Ltd – 79.8% *Primary market activities* IPO opening today Manika Plastech Ltd (Mainn board) – Issue size 125.50Cr *Commodities updates* Gold – Rs 152104/10gm, Silver – Rs 234053/kg, Brcrude – Rs 9718/barrel, Copper – Rs 1374.30/kg.

Morning Alert.. *India's goods exports rise over 15% in April-August: Piyush Goyal* India’s merchandise exports rose over 15 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) in April-August, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said on Wednesday. This suggests India’s goods exports, which were $183 billion in April-August of the last financial year, have comfortably surpassed $200 billion in the first five months of the current year. “Despite all the global turmoil that the world is going through today, I am happy to share that our merchandise exports have grown by upwards of 15 per cent between April and August,” Goyal said at the Brics Women’s Business Alliance Summit in New Delhi. The Department of Commerce is likely to detail the trade data for August on September 15. In April-July, India’s merchandise exports recorded growth of 17 per cent Y-o-Y to $174 billion, according to the latest official data released by the government. The sharp growth in merchandise exports comes in a year when India has set an ambitious total exports target of $1 trillion. The trade agreements finalised by New Delhi in recent years are likely to support India in meeting the target, Goyal said. “In the last four and a half years, we have finalized trading arrangements for referential access to Indian goods and services with 38 developed economies, opening two-third of global trade for us. And in the next year and a half, we will expand this to 60 to 75 economies.” *Global market action* Dow Jones – Up by 0.25% or 130.70 points FTSE – Down by 1.33% or 141.60 points CAC – Down by 1.98% or 161.31 points DAX – Down by 1.69% or 431.18 points Gift Nifty – Down by 0.06% or 15.00 points *FII/DII activities* FII – Sold 582.99Cr worth of shares DII – Bought 1509.04Cr worth of shares. *Major Indian Indices PE* Nifty 50 – 20x Nifty Bank – 13.4x *Stocks with high delivery percentage* HDB Financial Services Ltd – 80.8% Schaeffler India Ltd – 80.2% Marico Ltd – 78.4% Mahanagar Gas Ltd – 77.6% Anupam Rasayan India Ltd – 76.4% *Primary market activities* IPOs opening today Panchatv Bharat Ltd (BSE SME) – Issue size 24.58Cr Raksan Transformers Ltd (BSE SME) - Issue size 150.50Cr Veegaland Developers Ltd (Main board) – Issue size 210Cr Om Galaxy Ltd (BSE SME) - Issue size 105Cr Maharaja Speedex India Ltd (BSE SME) - Issue size 80.13Cr *Commodities updates* Gold – Rs 153721/10gm, Silver – Rs 244263/kg, Brcrude – Rs 9118/barrel, Copper – Rs 1424.50/kg.

Morning Alert.. *Western freight corridor goes all the way, to cut transit time 60%* Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the ₹73,000 crore Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) to the nation on Tuesday, closing a two-decade chapter in India’s infrastructure history — one that spanned 2,800 kilometres (km) and three prime ministers. With the Western and Eastern DFCs now complete, India has finished the second-biggest infrastructure plan — first proposed by then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee — after the Golden Quadrilateral. The Western DFC connects Dadri in Uttar Pradesh with Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), one of India’s major maritime gateways for export-import cargo. It is expected to cut by about 60 per cent the time a freight train takes to cover the route on the mixed-use Indian Railways tracks. “For a truck journey that takes 30 hours, the DFC will take 10-12 hours,” Modi said. Experts estimate the optimum potential for cost savings in container cargo at about 25 per cent, while the benefit currently accruing to container train operators is roughly 6-7 per cent. The Western DFC is often described as India’s industrial freight corridor, linking northern and northwestern industrial centres with major ports including Mundra, Kandla, Pipavav and JNPA. *Global market action* Dow Jones – Down by 0.05% or 24.20 points FTSE – Down by 0.10% or 10.47 points CAC – Up by 0.14% or 11.83 points DAX – Up by 0.00% or 1.10 points Gift Nifty – Down by 0.24% or 56.50 points *FII/DII activities* FII – Sold 123.19Cr worth of shares DII – Bought 1349.64Cr worth of shares. *Major Indian Indices PE* Nifty 50 – 20x Nifty Bank – 13.4x *Stocks with high delivery percentage* JK Cement Ltd – 85.4% Home First Finance Company India Ltd – 83.9% Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Ltd – 83.4% Avenue Superarts Ltd – 80.8% Leela Palaces Hotels & Resorts Ltd – 78.8% *Primary market activities* IPOs opening today Rentmojo Ltd (Main board) – Issue size 1255.57Cr Asset Reconstruction Co. Morning Alert.. *Alternative fuels zoom past petrol in share of PV sales: Fada data* For the first time in history, the penetration of petrol-powered cars was surpassed by alternative fuel vehicles in India in August. The share of alternative fuels — compressed natural gas (CNG), hybrid and electric combined — in the passenger vehicle (PV) market stood at 41.95 per cent against petrol’s 40.85 per cent, according to data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (Fada) on Monday. Alternative fuel PV sales closed the 11.9 percentage point gap with petrol PV sales seen last August, which was narrower than the 21.03 percentage point gap seen August 2024. This comes at a time when customers are raising concerns over the E20 (20 per cent ethanol and 80 per cent petrol blended) fuel. Automobile retail sales clocked the best-ever August sales this year, at 24,23,201 units, up 18 per cent from the year-ago period, driven by record August retail numbers in PVs, two wheelers (2W), three wheelers (3W), and commercial vehicles (CVs), the data showed. “The defining development of the month, however, was a structural one: for the first time in India’s history, alternative fuels — CNG, hybrid and electric combined — overtook petrol in the PV market, at 41.95 per cent against petrol’s 40.85 per cent . A little over a year ago petrol led this contest by nearly 11 percentage points; that lead has now been erased,” said Sai Giridhar, president, Fada. *Global market action* Dow Jones – Down by 0.62% or 332.43 points FTSE – Down by 0.13% or 13.63 points CAC – Up by 0.24% or 20.23 points DAX – Down by 0.23% or 59.00 points Gift Nifty – Down by 0.13% or 30.50 points *FII/DII activities* FII – Bought 280.13Cr worth of shares DII – Bought 566.76Cr worth of shares. *Major Indian Indices PE* Nifty 50 – 20.1x Nifty Bank – 13.5x *Stocks with high delivery percentage* HDB Financial Services Ltd – 85.8% TBO Tek Ltd – 80.8% Nuvoco Vistas Corporation Ltd – 76.4% Max Financial Services Ltd – 76.2% Bharti Airtel Ltd – 75.4% *Primary market activities* IPOs opening today Glass Wall Systems India Ltd (Main board) – Issue size 427.89Cr Prasol Chemicals Ltd (Main board) – Issue size 500Cr Kanohar Electronics Ltd (Main board) - Issue size 1055.74Cr Listing today Farm Peace Ltd (BSE SME) – Subscribed 1.16x Rays of Belief Ltd (Main board) – Subscribed 107.71x Deepa Jewellers Ltd (Main board) – Subscribed 43.40x Fly-Hi Maritime Travels Ltd (BSE SME) – Subscribed 2.12x *Commodities updates* Gold – Rs 152750/10gm, Silver – Rs 238996/kg, Brcrude – Rs 8763/barrel, Copper – Rs 1386.45/kg.

Morning Alert.. *Private firms' capex rises 7% to ₹30.3 trillion in FY25, shows govt data* Private corporations have invested Rs. 30.3 trillion in fixed assets such as plant, machinery and intellectual property in FY25, a 7 per cent jump from the capital expenditure they made in the previous year, establishing a healthy growth in investments, according to latest data available from the statistics ministry. In FY24, they had made a capital expenditure of Rs. 28.3 trillion, showing an annual growth of 2.65 per cent, as per the detailed Gross Fixed Capital Formation (GFCF) figures for FY25 released by the ministry. On the other hand, government capital spending slowed to 10.2 per cent in FY25 from 18.5 per cent in FY24, while total investment growth held at 8.2 per cent in FY25 compared to 9 per cent in year ago period. Total investments in fixed assets stood at Rs 99.76 trillion in FY25. "Capital expenditure of state governments has actually moderated to manage the fiscal deficits," according to Madan Sabnavis, chief economist at Bank of Baroda. He said that the slowdown in public investment reflected a step by states to rein in their finances and keep deficit in check. Machinery and equipment is the single largest slice of corporate investment at nearly half the total, with growth rebounding to about 6 per cent from barely 1 per cent a year earlier. *Global market action* Dow Jones – Down by 0.33% or 175.54 points FTSE – Flat CAC – Down by 0.09% or 7.63 points DAX – Up by 0.17% or 43.08 points Gift Nifty – Down by 0.10% or 24.00 points *FII/DII activities* FII – Sold 3111.94Cr worth of shares DII – Bought 8930.12Cr worth of shares. *Major Indian Indices PE* Nifty 50 – 20.2x Nifty Bank – 13.6x *Stocks with high delivery percentage* Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd – 95.9% AIA Engineering Ltd – 91.5% JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd – 83.1% Pfizer Ltd – 81.8% CRISIL Ltd – 80.9% *Primary market activities* IPOs opening today Pranav Constructions Ltd (Main board) – Issue size 351.03Cr Apana Logistics Ltd (BSE SME) – Issue size 34.14Cr Listing today Purple Style Labs Ltd (Main board) – Subscribed 0.75x Phychem Technologies Ltd (BSE SME) – Subscribed 20.79x Shanti Inorganics Ltd (NSE SME) – Subscribed 142.17x Ashutosh Fibre Ltd (NSE SME) – Subscribed 144.65x *Commodities updates* Gold – Rs 152817/10gm, Silver – Rs 237561/kg, Brcrude – Rs 8574/barrel, Copper – Rs 1378/kg.

Review seen positive for market stability Rahul Sharma, Head of Research at Equity99, said the review is a positive development for derivatives-market stability. "Sebi's proposed review is positive for derivatives-market stability, but the actual impact will depend entirely on the alternative settlement formula," Sharma said. He said a change in methodology should reduce CAS-driven expiry volatility, though it will not remove the usual swings that come with expiry-day positioning. "Yes, it should reduce the CAS-driven sharp expiry-day swings, but it will not eliminate normal expiry volatility," he said. Morning Alert.. *RBI's dollar sales, robust swap inflows lift rupee to 10-week high* The rupee appreciated to a 10-week high on Thursday as robust dollar inflows through the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI’s) special Foreign Currency Non-Resident (Bank), or FCNR(B), swap window lifted sentiment, along with central bank’s more active intervention in the foreign exchange (forex) market, dealers said. The RBI’s special swap measures mobilised a higher-than-expected $136.4 billion in foreign currency inflows till August 31. The rupee on Thursday settled at 94.49 per dollar, its strongest close since June 25. The rupee had closed at 94.98 on Wednesday. During the session, it touched an intraday high of 94.27 per dollar. The rupee has gained more than 1 per cent in the last week, making it one of Asia’s best-performing currencies. Market participants said dollar inflows have strengthened the RBI’s hand in managing pressure on the rupee at a time when elevated crude oil prices and rising global bond yields have weighed on emerging-market currencies. In the early stages of the FCNR(B) scheme, the rupee’s appreciation remained muted due to a stronger influence of global factors on the local currency. However, dealers said the RBI has since stepped up direct intervention in the spot market to contain volatility in the exchange rate. *Global market action* Dow Jones – Up by 0.00% or 0.62 points FTSE – Up by 0.69% or 75.07 points CAC – Up by 0.07% or 5.77 points DAX – Up by 0.63% or 163.99 points Gift Nifty – Up by 0.41% or 98.00 points *FII/DII activities* FII – Sold 2345.87Cr worth of shares DII – Bought 4977.46Cr worth of shares. *Major Indian Indices PE* Nifty 50 – 20.2x Nifty Bank – 13.6x *Stocks with high delivery percentage* Schaeffler India Ltd – 83.7% EIH Ltd – 75.9% *Primary market activities* IPO opening today Qualiance International Ltd (NSE SME) – Issue size 45.11Cr Listing today Complete Sports and management India ltd (BSE SME) – Subscribed 3.45x Paluck technologies ltd (BSE SME) – Subscribed 271.68x Priority jewels ltd (Main board) – Subscribed 100.45x ESDS software solutions ltd (Main board) – Subscribed 142.88x *Commodities updates* Gold – Rs 155722/10gm, Silver – Rs 236400/kg, Brcrude – Rs 8630/barrel, Copper – Rs 1384/kg.

Morning Alert.. *India vs developed markets: Govt bond yield gap continues to narrow* Government bond yields have been rising across the world from their historic lows, with some of the sharpest increases recorded in the US and UK. In the short term, however, Japan has seen the steepest rise, followed by Germany. By comparison, the rise in Indian bond yields has been relatively muted. Yields have remained within a narrow range over the past three years, unlike those in the US, Germany, Japan and the UK. This has resulted in a compression of the yield spread between India and developed markets (DMs). Tracking the rise in US Treasury yields and crude oil prices, the benchmark 10-year government bond yield in India settled at 6.97 per cent on Wednesday. Its previous close was 6.96 per cent. During the day, it touched the psychologically crucial 7 per cent level. The last time the benchmark yield closed above 7 per cent was on June 3. The benchmark bond yield on Wednesday stood at 4.81 per cent in the US, 3.027 per cent in Japan, 5.24 per cent in the UK and 3.37 per cent in Germany. *Global market action* Dow Jones – Up by 0.05% or 24.06 points FTSE – Down by 0.31% or 32.83 points CAC – Down by 0.26% or 21.22 points DAX – Down by 0.51% or 130.78 points Gift Nifty – Up by 0.48% or 116.00 points *FII/DII activities* FII – Bought 6688.37Cr worth of shares DII – Bought 2812.98Cr worth of shares. *Major Indian Indices PE* Nifty 50 – 20.2x Nifty Bank – 13.5x *Stocks with high delivery percentage* UTI AMC Ltd – 93% Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC – 80.4% Narayana Hrudayalaya Ltd – 80.1% DOMS Industries Ltd – 77.6% Tata Communication Ltd – 75.5% *Primary market activities* Listing today Kwick Forensic Solutions Ltd (BSE SME) – Subscribed 289x Lumino Industries Ltd (Main board) – Subscribed 124.02x *Commodities updates* Gold – Rs 152511/10gm, Silver – Rs 230100/kg, Brcrude – Rs 8580/barrel, Copper – Rs 1371.45/kg.

Morning Alert.. *Manufacturing PMI falls to 5-year low in August amid sales slowdown* India’s private sector manufacturing activity expanded at its slowest pace in five years in August as weak demand slowed sales, output and hiring, a private survey showed on Tuesday. HSBC’s India Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), which tracks monthly changes, fell to 52.8 in August from 53.5 in July. The reading was the lowest since August 2021 (when it was 52.3) and also below the index’s long-run average of 54.2. The latest figure — a weighted average of new orders, output, employment, suppliers’ delivery times and stocks of purchases — was also below the Flash India Manufacturing PMI estimate of 52.9 released earlier in August. The index remained above the 50-mark, indicating expansion in activity. A reading below 50 signals contraction. August also marked the 59th consecutive month of expansion. “India’s final manufacturing PMI slipped to 52.8 in August, extending its decline for a third consecutive month. The output index fell to its lowest level since August 2021, signalling that production is still expanding but at a markedly slower pace,” said Pranjul Bhandari, chief India economist at HSBC. *Global market action* Dow Jones – Up by 0.04% or 22.75 points FTSE – Down by 0.32% or 34.98 points CAC – Down by 0.39% or 32.65 points DAX – Down by 1.11% or 288 points Gift Nifty – Down by 0.18% or 43.00 points *FII/DII activities* FII – Bought 1143.38Cr worth of shares DII – Bought 1846.94Cr worth of shares. *Major Indian Indices PE* Nifty 50 – 20.3x Nifty Bank – 13.6x *Stocks with high delivery percentage* HDB Financial Services Ltd – 87.8% SBFC Fianance Ltd – 84.9% Krishna Institute o Medical Sciences Ltd – 76.6% Jubilant Ingrevia Ltd – 75.9% *Primary market activities* Listing today Annu Projects Ltd (Main board) – Subscribed 2.93x Sumax Engineering Ltd (NSE SME) – Subscribed 162.94x *Commodities updates* Gold – Rs 151629/10gm, Silver – Rs 229400/kg, Brcrude – Rs 8535/barrel, Copper – Rs 1371.75/kg.

Morning Alert.. *India's GDP grows 7.8% in Q1FY27 despite disruptions from West Asia crisis* Outpacing expectations by most forecasters, India’s economy grew at a robust 7.8 per cent in the June quarter of FY27, compared with 8.6 per cent in the preceding March quarter of FY26, despite geopolitical headwinds arising from the West Asia crisis, according to data released by the National Statistical Office on Monday. Powered by strong manufacturing and services sector growth, India remained one of the fastest growing major economies, with China expanding 4.3 per cent and Indonesia growing 5.3 per cent in the June quarter. India’s economy had grown 6.9 per cent in the June quarter of last financial year. The gross value added (GVA) growth print at 8.2 per cent for Q1 was higher than real gross domestic product (GDP) growth, signalling subsidies outstripped indirect taxes during the quarter. Nominal GDP grew at 10.3 per cent in the June quarter against 9.1 per cent in the preceding March quarter of FY26, indicating towards built up in inflationary pressure. Forecasts by agencies for June quarter GDP growth had ranged between 6.9 per cent by India Ratings & Research (Ind-Ra) and 8 per cent by the State Bank of India (SBI). Morning Alert.. *India to sustain 7% growth in FY27 despite global headwinds: FM Sitharaman* India is likely to sustain economic growth of 7 per cent or more in 2026-27 (FY27), continuing the pace recorded in the years since the Covid-19 pandemic, Finance Minister (FM) Nirmala Sitharaman said on Sunday. “Since then (Covid), we have been sustaining growth at 7 per cent or more. This year too our growth will be in that range,” Sitharaman said while addressing the Indian diaspora in Chicago, United States. India was likely to maintain its growth momentum despite geopolitical uncertainties and supply-chain disruptions following the US-Iran conflict and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the finance minister noted. “Continuously keeping in touch with global uncertainties as much as understanding India’s own requirements have kept us floating. Whereas many countries are completely disturbed, their calculations have gone haywire,” she said. The disruption in the Strait of Hormuz initially affected supplies of key commodities such as petroleum products, natural gas and fertilisers to India, but the country managed to reroute supplies, Sitharaman said. The government has also kept fertiliser prices unchanged for farmers through subsidies despite a sharp rise in international prices, she said. “The forthcoming season will also require fertilisers from November. We are adequately stocked.” *Global market action* Dow Jones – Down by 0.30% or 158.22 points FTSE – Flat CAC – Up by 0.97% or 81.31 points DAX – Up by 0.76% or 202.75 points Gift Nifty – Down by 0.32% or 78.00 points *FII/DII activities* FII – Sold 5039.80Cr worth of shares DII – Bought 5183.93Cr worth of shares. *Major Indian Indices PE* Nifty 50 – 20.4x Nifty Bank – 13.6x *Stocks with high delivery percentage* GMR Airports Ltd – 86.3% Coal India Ltd – 79.4% Balkrishna Industries Ltd – 77.2% Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd – 75.5% GAIL India Ltd – 75.4% *Primary market activities* IPOs opening today Purple Style Labs Ltd (Main board) – Issue size 680Cr Phychem Technologies Ltd (BSE SME) – Issue size 14.58Cr Shanti Inorganics Ltd (NSE SME) - Issue size 47.24Cr Ashutosh Fibre Ltd (NSE SME) - Issue size 56.35Cr Listing today Augment Enterprises Ltd (Main board) – Subscribed 77.99x *Commodities updates* Gold – Rs 156255/10gm, Silver – Rs 236700/kg, Brcrude – Rs 7988/barrel, Copper – Rs 1381.60/kg.
