So, what are horizontal channels? 🤔 Imagine a certain "band" in which the asset price "runs". This is a horizontal channel - a narrow zone with almost identical upper and lower boundaries. Let's say the asset price fell to 100, rose to 110, fell again to 100, rose again to 110, and so on. Here 100 and 110 are the boundaries of our horizontal channel. ❓ Why do we need this? The fact is that such channels are a kind of "signals" for traders. If the asset price is "stuck" in such a channel, this may indicate a period of consolidation, that is, the market is "resting" before new movements. So how do we use these channels? There are several main strategies: ▶️ Trade with the trend: if the price is mainly moving up, we open buy trades, if down - sell. ▶️ Trade on pullbacks: sometimes the price can temporarily go against the main trend. This can be a good opportunity to enter a trade. ▶️ Trade on a breakout: if the price "breaks out" of the channel, this can mean the beginning of a new trend.
