✨ A Meaningful Coincidence in Bhutan ✨ I will be travelling to Bhutan for a personal excursion. ✨ Why the Seven Star Dipper Temple is So Powerful Many people know about the Seven Star Lamp ritual from the story of Zhuge Liang. When he was seriously ill during the Northern Campaign, he set up seven lamps in the formation of the Big Dipper to extend his life. But very few people know that the original master of this technique was actually Jiang Ziya (Jiang Tai Gong). Jiang Tai Gong was the legendary strategist who helped King Wu of Zhou overthrow the Shang Dynasty more than 3000 years ago. He was not just a military strategist. In Daoist traditions, he was also a master who understood the celestial star systems that govern human destiny. One of the systems he used was the Seven Star Dipper Formation. Why the Big Dipper? In Daoist cosmology, the Big Dipper controls the registers of life, fate, and destiny. It is said that every person’s lifespan and karmic records are recorded under the authority of the Northern Dipper stars. Because of this, Jiang Tai Gong created a ritual to petition the Seven Stars to modify destiny. This later became known as the Seven Star Lamp ritual (七星灯续命法) Later famous figures like Zhuge Liang and Liu Bowen were also said to have used similar methods to alter fate.
