Job Title: GIS, Remote Sensing Expert Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled GIS Specialist with a strong background in Remote Sensing and GIS to support mapping requirements in irrigation, water resources, hydropower, or infrastructure sector projects. The candidate will be primarily responsible for preparing high-quality base maps and thematic maps using various GIS and remote sensing tools. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed Base Maps using satellite imagery, topographic data, and other spatial datasets. Develop thematic maps including land use/land cover, watershed boundaries, drainage networks, canal systems, command areas, and infrastructure layout. Integrate and process spatial datasets from multiple sources (satellite, drone, survey, and secondary data). Perform georeferencing, digitization, and projection transformations to ensure data accuracy. Analyze spatial data using GIS tools for identifying features and patterns relevant to project needs. Collaborate with engineering and hydrology teams to ensure maps meet technical and functional requirements. Maintain spatial databases and proper metadata documentation for all GIS layers and maps. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Remote Sensing / GIS Applications or equivalent from a recognized university (India/Abroad). Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in GIS and Remote Sensing for projects in irrigation, water resources, hydropower, or infrastructure. Proficiency in software tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS or similar. Familiarity with satellite data sources Strong analytical and cartographic skills with attention to detail.
