| 6 | ⚠️ My Experience Integrating Verify.et
I’ve been working on a project that requires payment verification immediately after a user completes a payment.
Initially, I planned to use Chapa, but because of the current government regulations and some uncertainties around the payment ecosystem, I didn’t want to take unnecessary risks. While looking for alternatives, I came across Verify.et by Suba Software Solution.

I was already halfway through the integration and had almost completed the entire setup. However, recently I started noticing some issues with the Verify.et platform that could become inefficient for the system I’m building.
Because of that, for now I’m forced to build my own verification system. It will be somewhat manual, at least until I find a more reliable solution.
That said, I honestly don’t blame Suba Software Solution entirely for these issues. From what I’ve observed, part of the problem seems to come from the payment service providers themselves—their servers sometimes don't respond as expected, which makes it difficult for a verification service sitting on top of them to guarantee a reliable response every time.
💡 My suggestions
For Suba Software Solution, I think making the verification service free, or at least lowering the barrier to adoption, could help bring in more developers and businesses. The more people use the service, the more noticeable these payment-provider issues become, which could eventually put pressure on the providers to improve their systems.
For developers using payment verification services, I’d also recommend having a semi-manual verification fallback.
By semi-manual, I mean having an observer/mediator who can review a transaction when the automated verification process fails or returns an uncertain status, rather than relying entirely on an automated response.
In payment systems, having a fallback is much better than assuming the automated verification will always work.
This is just my experience from integrating the service into a real project. Hopefully, Verify.et and the payment providers continue improving their systems. 🇪🇹💻 | 92 |

iPhone users have had a Scriptable workaround for a while now. It worked, but barely, it was a chore to set up and it kept falling behind the Android app. Nobody should have to do that much work to experience totals.
The real blocker was never the code. The App Store requires a verified Apple Developer organization, which is not something a small open-source project has lying around.
Horan Technologies came to the rescue. They're hosting Totals on their organization so it can ship on the App Store properly, no workarounds, just the app.
Special thanks to Gemechis, founder & CEO of Horan Technologies, who made this happen. He understood what this meant for the project right away and opened the door without hesitation. Totals gets to exist on iOS because of him. He didn't have to, and there's nothing in it for him.
Everything else stays the same. Totals is still free, still open source, still parses your bank SMS entirely on your device.
