Linux Passwords Hunting
I was checking some video on how to find passwords for Linux machines if you are on it.
using find does the awesome job
here are copy paste from github
grep --color=auto -rnw '/' -ie "PASSWORD" --color=always 2> /dev/null
find . -type f -exec grep -i -I "PASSWORD" {} /dev/null \;
We can search for passwords in History and in bash history
LinPeas also shows some interesting events ( can be read)
Do check for sensative files like ssh keys or openVPN files.
In memory passwords
strings /dev/mem -n10 | grep -i PASS
