I wish I had more energy to chat online, but doing so—especially in a language that isn't my own—makes me feel inadequate and too tired to keep up with the conversation itself. Using Google helps, but constantly translating with it—and then having to review the text to ensure it makes sense and the context is right—is a real pain.

I think the strangest criticism I’ve ever received about my art was, "Wow, it looks like you put an animal's head on a human body." That was many years ago, and I think even today my answer would still be, "Well, I guess that’s right, then."

I’m going to pause subscription billing so I can focus exclusively on commissions for the rest of this month and the start of the next. Between getting sick, dealing with anxiety attacks, and having a visitor from abroad, it’s been a hectic month where I’ve barely been able to work—and that really tears me apart.
