Why 90% of people fail AI Training Platform assignments before they even start The assessment test is where most people fail before they even start. Every serious AI training platform has one. And most people walk in completely unprepared because they assume that if the work is simple, the test must be simple too. It is not. Here is what the assessment is actually measuring - and how to be ready for it. The test is not checking whether you are smart. It is checking whether you are consistent, careful, and willing to follow instructions precisely. Those are different things. A brilliant person who skims the guidelines and relies on intuition will fail. A methodical person who reads everything slowly and applies the rules exactly will pass. What you will typically encounter: You are given a scenario - an AI response, a piece of content, a search result - and asked to evaluate it using a specific rubric the platform provides. The rubric defines exactly what each score means. A 4 out of 5 means something precise on their scale, not what 4 out of 5 means to you personally. The most common failure point is ignoring the rubric and rating based on gut feeling. Your gut has been trained by your own preferences. The rubric has been designed to train an AI model. They are not the same thing. 🎯 Before your assessment: .... read the provided guidelines at least twice. On the first read, get the overview. On the second read, take notes on the specific definitions - especially how they define the difference between a 3 and a 4, or between "acceptable" and "good." Those boundary cases are exactly what the test questions will probe. 🎯 During the assessment: take your time. There is no prize for finishing first. Work slowly enough to apply the rubric consciously to every question. When you are genuinely unsure between two options, choose the one the rubric most specifically describes - not the one that feels right. 🎯 After the assessment: if you fail, wait the required period before retrying. Do not create a new account to skip the wait. Platforms detect this and the ban that follows is permanent. The 14-day practice plan in our full tutorial guide was built specifically to prepare you for these assessments. It walks you through daily exercises - each one targeting a skill the tests actually measure - so that by the time you apply, you are not practicing on the test itself. Want the guide? check below. There are 5 types of tasks on AI training platforms. Most beginners only know one. Understanding all five tells you where you are most valuable - and where the highest pay is waiting for you specifically. 🎯 Rating: This is the most common entry point. You read an AI response and score it - usually on a scale of one to five - across dimensions like accuracy, helpfulness, clarity, and safety. You then write a brief explanation of your score. This sounds simple but the nuance matters enormously. A medical question answered without recommending a doctor visit might score well on accuracy but poorly on safety. Your job is to hold both in mind simultaneously. 🎯 Comparing: You see two or three AI responses to the same question side by side. You pick the best one and explain why with specific references to the content - not just "this one is better" but "this one is better because it correctly identifies X while the other one confuses X with Y." Platforms use your comparisons to train the AI's preference system. Your reasoning is as important as your choice. 🎯 Writing: You create prompts - challenging questions or instructions - that will be used to test or train AI models. Then you write what the ideal response should look like. This is where domain expertise becomes extremely valuable. A doctor writing medical prompts, a lawyer writing legal prompts, an engineer writing technical prompts - these people earn two to four times what a general writer earns because the specificity of their knowledge is irreplaceable. 🎯 Labeling: You categorize content. Tag this sentence as a complaint. Tag this image as containing a vehicle. Classify this review as positive, negative, or neutral. Labeling tasks are often the simplest to start with and the lowest paid. They are useful for building your quality score before moving to more complex work. 🎯 Annotating: You highlight, mark, or draw on content to indicate specific elements. Highlight every factual claim in this paragraph. Draw a box around every human face in this image. Annotate which parts of this code are likely to produce an error. Annotation tasks require precision and patience. They pay more than labeling and less than writing. Most people start at labeling. Most experienced workers live in writing and comparing. The path between them is a quality score that proves you can be trusted with more complex work. *Do NOT apply to any AI platforms before opening this ONE account.* Before you apply to any AI training platform, there is one account you need to open first. Not the platform account. Not PayPal. Something else. And if you skip this step, you may complete your first tasks, earn your first dollars, and then discover you have no way to receive the money. It happens more than you would think. The account is Payoneer. Payoneer is a global payment platform that works like an international bank account. Almost every AI training platform that pays Nigerian workers uses it. When platforms process your payment, they send it to your Payoneer account first. From there you transfer it to your Nigerian bank account in Naira. The problem is that Payoneer takes one to three business days to verify your identity after you apply. Sometimes longer. If you wait until you have tasks ready to be paid before you set it up, you are waiting to collect money you have already earned. Set it up on Day 1. Before you apply anywhere. You will need your full legal name exactly as it appears on your government ID - any mismatch between your Payoneer name and your platform account name causes payment failures. You will need a valid government ID, a recent proof of address, and your Nigerian bank account details. After Payoneer, set up Wise as your second option. Wise generally gives better exchange rates for larger withdrawals. And look into Grey - grey(.)com - which gives you an actual US bank account number that some platforms accept for direct transfer, bypassing conversion fees entirely. Three accounts. Set up before you do anything else. This is the kind of detail that separates the people who actually get paid from the ones who earn and then spend a week troubleshooting why the money isn't landing. The full payment setup walkthrough - including which platforms use which payment method and the exact steps for each - is covered in the full tutorial guide PDF. Link below. There is a task system inside OneForma that most Nigerian users never find. It is called UHRS - Universal Human Relevance System. It is owned by Microsoft. And it pays significantly more than the standard OneForma tasks. Here is what it is and how to get access. UHRS is Microsoft's internal data evaluation platform. They use it to improve Bing search results, Cortana responses, and a range of other Microsoft AI products. The way they source workers for it is through partner platforms - and OneForma is one of those partners. When you sign up to OneForma as a regular user, you are not automatically inside UHRS. You have to apply for UHRS access separately from inside your OneForma dashboard. Once approved, a new section opens up with what are called "hitapps" - specific task categories, each with their own guidelines and qualification test. To pass the UHRS setup, you need a Microsoft email address. A new Outlook account created specifically for this purpose works better than an old one. Use a desktop browser - Chrome or Edge - not a mobile browser. Do not use a VPN at any point during the setup process. If your Outlook is rejected, email uhrs@oneforma.com with a screenshot of the error and your OneForma username. They respond. Once inside, UHRS pays per task rather than per hour. Individual tasks can pay between $0.08 and $0.50 each. That sounds small until you realize a focused worker completes 30 to 50 of them in an hour. The math gets interesting quickly. The catch is the quality threshold. If your score on a specific hitapp drops below roughly 70 percent, you get a temporary ban from that hitapp - usually 24 to 72 hours. Repeated drops lead to a permanent ban from that hitapp. The solution is straightforward: read the hitapp guidelines completely before you start, and work carefully rather than quickly until you understand the pattern. Most Nigerian OneForma users are earning standard task rates. The ones who took the time to unlock UHRS are earning considerably more from the same platform. Learn more: Aitraining.learnwithdexa.com

The Silent Metric that will get your AI Training Account Banned Nobody explains this and it costs people everything. Every AI training platform tracks a number called your quality score. It is usually shown as a percentage. And it quietly controls every single thing that happens to your account. Here is how it works. When you complete tasks, you think all of them are being graded in real time by a human reviewer. Some are. But most platforms also hide what are called "honeypot" tasks inside your regular work - tasks where the platform already knows the correct answer. They slip these in without telling you. Your response to these hidden tasks is compared against the expected answer. That comparison becomes your quality score. If your score stays high - usually above 80 to 85 percent - you get access to more tasks, better-paying projects, and priority placement when new work opens up. If your score drops below the threshold, you start to see fewer tasks appearing in your dashboard. The platform doesn't tell you why. You just notice that there is less work available. Eventually you might be removed from a project entirely. This is why two people can be on the same platform at the same time and one of them has five tasks waiting while the other has none. It is not luck. It is quality score. The most common reason quality scores drop is not incompetence. It is rushing. People complete tasks too quickly, they skim the guidelines, they guess when they are uncertain. The platform notices the inconsistency before the person does. The rule that protects you is simple: never trade speed for accuracy in your first month. A high quality score from the beginning compounds over time - it unlocks better projects, higher pay grades, and more work. A low score is difficult to recover from and in some cases cannot be recovered at all. Skip any task you are unsure about. A skipped task does not hurt your score. A wrong answer does. Read the guidelines for every task type fully before you start. Even if you think you understand. Even if it takes an extra five minutes. Especially then. Five platforms. Five completely different experiences. If you are new to AI training work, you will hear the same names repeated constantly - Outlier, Mindrift, OneForma, DataAnnotation, Appen. And you will have no idea which one to start with. Here is a clear breakdown. 🎯 Outlier: is the one everyone talks about because it pays the best for general work - $15 to $30 per hour. It is also the one Nigerians cannot access directly. Their platform blocks Nigerian IP addresses at registration. You either need a trusted contact abroad to register on your behalf, or you move to the alternatives. Many people waste weeks trying to force their way in. Don't be one of them. 🎯 Mindrift: where most serious Nigerian AI trainers actually start. It is built on Toloka infrastructure, accepts Nigerian registrations directly, pays via Payoneer or Wise, and has a wide range of task types. STEM specialists - doctors, engineers, lawyers, accountants - earn significantly more here. The onboarding involves an AI interview and a written assessment. It is manageable if you prepare. 🎯 OneForma: is the platform Nigerians consistently call "the most reliable alternative." Multiple ongoing projects mean less downtime. It accepts Nigerian users directly and has a strong reputation for actually paying on time. It also has access to UHRS - a Microsoft-powered task system inside the platform that most users never discover. UHRS pays more than the standard tasks and is worth unlocking as soon as possible. 🎯 DataAnnotation: is the closest to Outlier in terms of task quality and pay — starting at $20 per hour minimum. Nigerian access is inconsistent and changes periodically. Worth testing when you are ready. Not the place to start. 🎯 Appen: is one of the oldest platforms in the industry. It has been running since 1996. Pay is lower than the others but it has more consistent project availability and a wide variety of task types. Nigerian users are accepted and there are specific projects for Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo speakers. Good as a backup platform while others are slow. The strategic move is this: start with Mindrift and OneForma simultaneously. Apply to Appen in your second week. Check DataAnnotation a month in. Pursue Outlier last, only if you have a genuine pathway in. Don't start with the hardest platform to access. Start with the ones that will have you earning while you are still learning. ₦96,000 a month part-time. ₦384,000 full-time. Those are the beginner numbers for AI training work in Nigeria. Not promises or projections. Realistic estimates based on current platform rates for someone who has been doing this for less than three months. At the intermediate level, three to twelve months in, you are looking at ₦288,000 to ₦576,000 part-time. More if you are on multiple platforms simultaneously. 📌 Specialists: people with domain knowledge in medicine, law, engineering, finance, or coding, report earnings between ₦960,000 and ₦5 million monthly. At full commitment. These numbers assume one thing: that you know what you are doing. And that is exactly the gap the AI Training Platforms Guide was built to close. It covers all 12 of the most active platforms available to Nigerians right now. It shows you step by step how to sign up, pass the assessments, avoid the mistakes that get accounts banned, set up your dollar payment accounts, and start earning - with a 30-day action plan so you are not guessing what to do each morning. The people who pre-ordered it at ₦3,500 have it in their emails already. It is ₦5,500 now. It will not stay there. If you want the full breakdown, the link is below.
