The chart details visits to the coast, the mountains and the lakes by foreigners in a certain European country in five different years between 1987 and 2007. Overall, the number of people visiting all the three destinations generally increased in the given years, with the lakes experiencing the most significant growth. While the coast maintained its top position for the most part of the period, the mountains remained at the bottom of the list for a fair share of the timeline. The coast attracted by far the largest number of the visitors for the most part of the period. While it was visited by nearly 40 thousand people in 1987(the largest figure for that time), it experienced a temporary downfall around 1992. Afterwards, it started to recover and by the year 2007 it had reached a high 70 thousand visitors. The second most popular tourist destination was the lakes. Even though it was the least visited(by around 10 thousand people) in 1987, the figure for this category had been increasing steadily by 1997, and by 2002 it had surged to approximately 75 thousand, surpassing the number of visits to the coast. However, it started to decline in popularity towards the end of the period and ended up hosting slightly over 50 thousand tourists in 2007. The mountains, by contrast, stood the least popular but the most stable. The number of people going to the mountains varied between 20 and 30 thousand over the whole period. In conclusion, the graph shows an increasing interest in the country, with the coast and the mountains attracting the largest number of overseas visitors.

Spending time in nature, by practising sports such as hiking and climbing, seems to be losing in popularity among young people. This may be the case mainly because of our modern lifestyles where the essential balance between work and play is broken; and the use of gadgets and social media dominates our leisure time. Having said that, I believe it is still possible to motivate youngsters to be closer to nature by raising public awareness of spending time in nature and offering easier access to nature resorts. One possible reason why there is a trend away from spending time in nature on holidays is the fact that young people simply have little or no time to do this since they are too much worried about their jobs. Ever increasing competition in the modern labour market is forcing young people to sacrifice their leisure time on the altar of professional development. A clear case in point would be young people in China, who often spend the nights awake in the 24/7 libraries to make sure that they are well prepared for their university exams and job interviews. This level of pressure ultimately might push youngsters to overlook the value of being in nature. Another stronger reason why young people are reluctant to go in nature can be their addiction to modern gadgets and social media. Being overly-hooked to their smartphones, laptops and social media accounts, these individuals may sometimes lose the track of time. They usually opt for playing video games or doom-scrolling rather than getting up and engaging in more physically demanding activities. As a result, they end up being trapped at home and not spending enough time outdoors which was not the case a couple of decades ago. Considering the factors contributing to the phenomenon of young generations spending not enough time in greenery, one can say that something has to be done to encourage them to get back to nature. One feasible option would be to explain to them the value of forest bathing, the practice of being in natural settings, especially in terms of their physical and mental health. Being close to nature is believed to help individuals relieve stress and improve concentration levels. Having been made aware of the critical benefits, young people are bound to have more interest in visiting the countryside on their holidays. Possibly a more practical measure would be to make it easier to access nature. Usually if one decides to go hiking or climbing, they need to take a long journey to the countryside and in most cases pay to enter those areas, which might be rather off-putting. To solve this issue, city developers should ensure the inclusion of green areas in the urban landscapes. Consequently, the residents would find it easier to reach green places as part of urban lifestyles, which is a crucial factor that raises motivation levels among city-dwellers. To summarise, young people's reluctance to be in nature appears to be driven by modern work environments and the prevalence of social media. Keeping this in mind, it could be argued that it is crucial to take steps to motivate young generations to spend more time in nature which can be done by awareness-raising campaigns and making access to nature more convenient.

The chart examines tea and coffee imports in tonnes in Canada, the UK, the USA and Germany. Overall, the UK and the US imports more tea than coffee with the UK being the largest importer of tea, whilst in Canada and Germany the figure for coffee imports is generally higher than that of tea. The UK displays the largest disparity in the import figures in favour of tea. While 160 thousand tonnes of tea is imported by the country, merely 20 thousand tonnes of coffee is purchased, a figure which is 8 times smaller than that of tea. Likewise, the US follows suit as the tea imports are far bigger than coffee at 110 and 40 thousand tonnes respectively. By contrast, a completely reverse pattern can be observed in Canada and Germany. Twice as much coffee as tea is imported by Canada, with 40 thousand and 20 thousand tonnes in turn. Meanwhile, even though Germany imports more coffee than tea as well, the discrepancy is negligible, 42 thousand and 40 thousand tonnes respectively.
