IDF commandos captured five Palestinians in the West Bank town of Qabatiya who the military says were planning a terror attack.
The military says soldiers of the Duvdevan Commando Unit raided Qabatiya at dawn following intelligence provided by the Shin Bet on a cell of five Palestinian terrorists "who planned to carry out an attack against Israeli civilians and security forces."
The commandos captured the five terrorists "less than ten minutes" after they entered the locations where they were suspected to be, the IDF says. They were then taken for Shin Bet questioning.
The IDF says the commandos also searched the terrorists' homes, during which they located an assault rifle, ammunition, and military gear that they had hidden.
| 2 | An indictment was filed today by the State Attorney's Office against an Israeli civilian for "security offenses" involving a "foreign influence" campaign, authorities announce.
Following the filing of the indictment, the Central District Court permits few details of the case to be published, while all other details are currently under wraps.
The State Attorney's Office says that the civilian was arrested and questioned by the Shin Bet security agency and police "on suspicion of security offenses."
"During his interrogation, it emerged that the [suspect] had been operated by foreign intelligence elements and had been involved in foreign influence activity," the statement reads.
"Upon completion of his interrogation, an indictment and a request for detention until the end of [legal] proceedings were filed against him for security offenses attributed to him in light of his being operated by foreign intelligence elements against the State of Israel," the State Attorney's Office adds. | 17 |
| 3 | A Hamas commander who led the invasion of the military's Sufa post on the border with the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, as well as held hostages in captivity, was killed in an airstrike earlier this week, the IDF announces.
The strike on Wednesday in southern Gaza's Khan Younis killed Mohammad Mahmoud Marshad al-Qadi, a company commander in Hamas's elite Nukhba Force, according to the military.
During the October 7 onslaught, al-Qadi led the raid on the Sufa army post, the IDF says, adding that during the war he held hostages in the Rafah area.
The military justifies the strike amid the ceasefire by saying that al-Qadi had recently been leading training of Hamas terrorists, acting to restore the terror group's capabilities, and advancing attacks on troops and Israeli civilians, "in a systematic violation of the ceasefire."

| 4 | In a statement, the military says that in the past few weeks, troops of the 36th Division, after achieving "operational control of the ridge area above and below ground," cleared two tunnel routes of Hezbollah operatives, killing some of them while others fled.
The IDF describes the facility as a "strategic infrastructure that was built over two decades," which it says was financed and planned by Iran.
Inside the tunnels, the troops found "command centers, weapons rooms, generator rooms, living quarters, showers, and a kitchen," which the IDF says enabled Hezbollah operatives "to conduct fighting and remain there for extended periods."
The IDF says that now that the underground site has been cleared of Hezbollah operatives, it is working to demolish it.
"Upon completion of the activity, the IDF will establish a renewed defensive posture in accordance with the situational assessment," the military says, indicating that it plans to withdraw from the area.
The military says that Hezbollah operatives launched attacks from the underground site at the ridge.
"Following the activity in the [tunnel] routes in recent weeks, the ability to carry out terror attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF troops from the routes has been neutralized," the statement adds. | 24 |

The suspect, 19, from a settlement in the northern West Bank, was detained this morning by officers following a joint investigation by the Israel Police and Shin Bet, a statement says.
He was taken for further questioning, and will later be brought for a court hearing to extend his remand.

| 14 |  +1The Israeli Navy's sixth submarine, INS “Drakon” -- or Dragon -- is now en route to Israel from Germany, the IDF and Defense Ministry announce.
A ceremony was held earlier this week at Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems' shipyard in Kiel, Germany, to mark the sending off of the Dolphin 2-class submarine to Israel.
"An Israeli flag was raised aboard the submarine, officially marking the beginning of its voyage to Israel," the statement says. Another ceremony will be held at the Haifa Naval Base upon its arrival.
The INS Drakon is to be equipped with "innovative and advanced technologies that place Israel at the forefront of global military technology and will enhance the Israeli Navy’s operational flexibility for years to come,” the military says.
The submarine's originally proposed name was Dakar, after an Israeli submarine that sank in 1968. Dragon is meant to be a compromise after some of the families of the fallen sailors from the original Dakar protested the proposal to recycle the name.
