Useful language (especially for writing task 2 and speaking part 3)
Writing'dan maslahat bering deb so'rashibdi.
Writing ikki marta 8.0 va uch marta 8.5 chiqdi menda (2025-yilda hozirgacha beshta exam topshirdim). Bunga asosiy sabab, eng ko'p tushadigan topic larga tayyorlanish.
Qanday?
Topic olasiz, essay yozasiz, va undan keyin ChatGPT ga ham essay yozdirib, uni essayidan g'oyalar va birikmalar olasiz. Buni ko'p qilish kerak.
Yoki bironta ustozda o'qisangiz ham, topshiriq berib, yo'l-yo'riq ko'rsatadi.
Advertising should be banned, because there is no use of it something it has damaging effects.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Essay
Advertising has become an inescapable part of modern life, shaping consumer behaviour and influencing cultural values. While some argue that it is pointless or even harmful, I strongly disagree with the idea of banning advertising altogether. In my view, despite its shortcomings, advertising serves vital economic and social purposes that cannot be overlooked.
To begin with, advertising plays a crucial role in driving economic growth. Businesses, both large and small, rely on advertisements to introduce new products, highlight competitive advantages, and reach potential customers. Without such exposure, many enterprises—especially start-ups—would struggle to survive in today’s saturated markets. For instance, the rapid expansion of e-commerce platforms such as Amazon or Alibaba would have been impossible without targeted online advertising. By promoting competition and innovation, advertising not only benefits producers but also ensures that consumers have access to a wider range of affordable goods.
Moreover, advertising fulfils an important informational function. In a complex marketplace, it would be unrealistic to expect consumers to independently research every available product or service. Advertisements condense key details such as price, quality, or unique features, helping individuals make more informed decisions. For example, campaigns promoting eco-friendly cars or renewable energy solutions raise public awareness about sustainable alternatives, indirectly shaping societal progress. In this sense, advertising can be a force for positive change rather than a mere commercial ploy.
Nevertheless, it is undeniable that advertising can sometimes have damaging effects, particularly when it promotes unrealistic beauty standards, manipulates vulnerable audiences such as children, or encourages overconsumption. The fast-food industry, for example, has been heavily criticised for fuelling unhealthy lifestyles through aggressive marketing. However, these negative consequences do not justify a complete ban. Instead, governments can regulate the industry more effectively, restricting harmful advertisements—such as those promoting tobacco, alcohol, or junk food—while allowing socially responsible campaigns to flourish.
In conclusion, although advertising may occasionally cause harm, it remains an indispensable part of modern economies and societies. Rather than banning it outright, policymakers should focus on stricter regulations and ethical standards. By doing so, we can harness the benefits of advertising while mitigating its potential drawbacks.
