Groundworks is an artist development programme for Singapore-based artists engaging with digital tools. Selected via public open call, the programme brings together five artists, facilitating mentorship and studio visits to strengthen each artist’s ability to develop ambitious digital works and articulate their practices. Presenting Groundworks is the culmination of this process, gathering new works that address central preoccupations for each artist—as first articulations of a new direction, or extensions of ongoing lines of inquiry. The programme is curated by Clara Peh, produced by Deanna Dzulkifli and Mary Ann Ng, presented by Common Protocol, supported by National Arts Council’s Arts x Tech Lab initiative. 20–28 June 2026 Arts x Tech Lab # 02-05, Aliwal Arts Centre, Singapore 199918 June 20, 3.30PM: Artist walkthrough, followed by opening reception June 27, 3PM: Artist panel Register for both events this link. ✅ ARH x EVAN LOW SOUNDCHECK Panel Series Recap Panel 3 is a wrap. Last night, Dru Chen, Estelle Fly, and Dr. Samuel Wong joined us at 42 Waterloo Street for an honest and generous conversation on the realities of building a sustainable music career — sharing candid reflections on adapting across different roles, navigating the balance between artistic fulfilment and practical demands, and developing a practice that can evolve over time. A highlight of the night was the live feedback segment featuring selected demos by Yen Océane and Junøz Pua, and the thoughtful exchanges that followed between the panel and audience. 💛 🎧 Check out their works here: Yen Océane: https://go.gov.sg/ratiorae Junøz Pua: https://go.gov.sg/junozbeats Thank you to everyone who joined us and stayed on after for the conversations and connections. 📌 Stay tuned for the next panel: https://www.artsresourcehub.gov.sg/

Embracing the Flexibility and Meaning in Portfolio Careers💪🏼 If you're looking for a good read today, here’s one on portfolio careers and how they can offer more flexibility, creative autonomy, and space to build work around a diverse mix of skills and interests. It also touches on how combining roles or income streams can make work feel more adaptable and sustainable. For many working in the arts, this can feel quite familiar — where work is often already shaped across different projects, roles, and creative practices, even if it can feel uncertain at times. It’s a gentle reminder that building a non-linear path is its own form of entrepreneurship - one that is highly intentional, deeply meaningful, and a rewarding way to shape your own career. 🙌🏼 👇 Read the full feature here: https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/working-life/beyond-corporate-life-why-some-singaporeans-choose-portfolio-careers

Aku Bersaksi… (I Bear Witness…) A solo exhibition by Syafiq Halid 🥁 Aku Bersaksi… (IBear Witness…) is an installation that reimagines Aliwal Arts Centre as asentient archive for the arts. Drawing from principles of metaphysics, Syafiqenvisions the building as a jasad (vessel) that has absorbed years of artisticpractice within its walls—the rehearsals, failures, discipline, andtransformation of the many artists who have passed through it. The interactiveinstallation invites audiences to move through the space and interact with thematerials, while experiencing an original sound work created from fieldrecordings collected across the building, blending electronic and traditionalsounds. 🎟️Free admission 🗓️ 21 to 30 May 2026 📍Arts x Tech Lab, Aliwal Arts Centre, #02-05 Closing Performances ⏰ 5 pm and 8 pm, 30 May 2026 🔗 Registration opens soon on this link
